I bloody hope someone captured the video of Virgil’s reaction to THAT piece of skill by Phillips. The lads at home must have been pissing themselves laughing. Really impressed with Konate - read everything and used his physicality to great effect. Him and Phillips look decent as a pairing.

I didn’t want to say much about Morton during the game not to jinx the lad somehow, but what a mature, quality performance once again! Even under pressure, his passing is so crisp and clean, every single time, which speaks to excellent concentration. Not afraid to get stuck in too. Like @Modo said, just a bit more body mass and all of a sudden we’ve got ourselves a top midfielder. Lovely.

AC Milan should be legally forbidden from using that famous name if they are going to play like that. This is like paying top dollar for an Italian designer leather bag and realizing it’s a cheap Chinese knock-off. Perfect game for us, but they should be ashamed.

phillips tonight shows he can play at a very high level - and comfortably ...
he's easily worth 20-30 million ... and I personally would keep him.
West Ham will certainly be keeping a close eye on him I reckon with Ogbonna and Zouma both injured.

Milan has some injuries, but the lack of pressing, work rate and desire was just pathetic for a side trying to get info the CL knockouts. They don't even look fit. Seria A must be a shambles if this lot are top.

Morton, Phillips and Konate were my standouts. Taki needs to be making more of these games, didn't impress.

Neco Williams did well and I don’t understand posters on here suggesting we sell him for anything approaching £20m. The kid has talent and IMO is more likely to become a regular starter than Curtis Jones.

I’m not suggesting selling either of them but Neco has something about him that I like although I have no idea what his best position is!

I honestly dont want us to sell any of our players right now. Not Neco not Nat, not Divok, all and every potential buyer can fuck right off.

I've said before this season that I doubted his future with us. Weak on the ball, slow off the ball. He also plays in that position just off a striker that we don't utilize, but is not enough of a star for us to accommodate him.

Having said that, this wasn't the game to judge him on. He was obviously told to go into midfield to give others a rest. Were he starting game in, game out, it'll be another story, but today, he did a job, together with the rest of the backups. This is an enjoyable squad.

I really want to keep him. I think he likely had a lot to do with Konate playing so well tonight, compared to with Matip (and I love Joel),

I would sell Gomez. We would get a similar amount because of his credentials, but also lacks leadership capability and is a sick note.

Totally agree with that

Pretty amazing how our paths have diverged since that final in Athens - now Milan are several levels below and they know it. Many of us criticized their display last week, but now I think Maldini is right - ability to handle pressure in the CL can only come with experience and this was Milan’s first appearance in 7 years. Good luck to them, it would be good for football to have a strong AC Milan team again.
