The long held game in hand, and the last Merseyside derby at Goodison. Let’s give em hell.

Team looks obvious based on today bar starting CF.

Alisson

Bradley
Konate
Van Dijk
Robertson

Gravy
Macca
Szobo

Salah
Nunez
Gakpo

I’d have Nunez start given Jota did a full 90 and hope he terrorises Tarkowski & Braithwaite.

Yep team picks itself.

Nunez to be sent off inside 5 mins and we lose 2-0 and everyone blames me for wanting us to go out of the FA Cup 😉

Moyes teams have traditional struggled against us, hopefully that form continues.

They played their full strength team yesterday and were soundly beaten.

Today did show our first squad is capable of a collectively shit display, hopefully that’s not Weds night.

Simi
Harvey
Diaz
Jota
Chiesa

All absolutely awful. Hopefully Gakpo, Salah, Gravy, Dom and Robbo can all show why their are in the strongest 11 right now.

I hope Bradley starts too.

Watched their game against Bournemouth and it was hoof, crossing and fighting for every 50/50.
It’s going to be hell, but let’s hope we manage to play some football.

Maybe Diaz already forgot how to be a winger... I think he starts over Nunez at #9.

Same team that beat Spurs but Mac for Jones.

It's Everton, it's Moyes. Anything other than 3 points would be a travesty.

That’s the team. I’ll take a boring 0-2 any day.

Having seen Darwin’s contribution on defensive set pieces and general work rate against Spurs, I think he starts.

Also if someone is going to goad a blue shite into a red card it’s either him or Robbo

I'd like to play Nunez, but he's also been a bit rubbish against them previously, so it's a tough call. The alternative is an out of sorts Jota or Diaz, so it's six of one, half a dozen of the other:

------------------Becker-----------------
Bradley---Konate----VVD----Robertson
------------------Gravy-------------------
----------Szobo--------Macca-----------
--Salah----------Nunez--------Gapko--

I think Nunez will just about shade it because of how good he is at defending setpieces, we need to dominate them aerially because this is where they will look to hit us, but we also don't want to get dragged into their tactics and tossing in aimless balls into the box.

Yep.

I think i'd Nunez as he is sharpest of the 3 options down the middle. I think this would be a superb example of tiring the opposition out and then sending on Jota / Diaz in the last 25/20 if we need to.

Nunez has looked decent on counter attacks of late, and I think this Everton team under Moyes is going to be a lost more progressive than we could have expected under Dyche.

As far as I can tell, Moyes fielded a full-strength team in their defeat to Bournemouth, while we'll have a well-rested first XI who haven't had to travel.

We couldn't ask for a better situation heading into the Everton match. It's a slight shame that Moyes is back and has brought some improvement, but would it really have been any tougher than a stormy night at Goodison, facing Dyche's ball without Konate? I'm not sure. Either way, there shouldn't be any excuses. I don't think the "last game at Goodison" narrative matters much. It's one of those media stories that I suspect the players couldn’t care less about. They’re probably counting down the hours to get out of that tin shed. I don't think the defeat to Plymouth matters much in regards to this game either.

Nunez and Gakpo are a must. Bradley and Szobo, too. As ever we will have to earn the right to play and that means winning the one on one duals and keeping the ball well. There will look to score so there should be some opportunities on the counter.

6 points from Everton and Wolves is a must.

Doesnt look like Trent will be ready but in all honesty I would actually prefer Bradley in this game. His intensity and tackling ability will be great to have in those 50/50s. That tackle he put in on Son against Spurs is the type of challenge that creates a lift for the rest of the team.
We need to be defensive solid and then hopefully our football ability as a team will be enough to get a few goals, and 3 points.

I watched the highlights of their defeats under Moyes to Villa and Bournemouth. They're playing out from the back, and look very clunky doing so, there's plenty of individual errors at the back and the CBs are rash. If we press well and keep the pressure up then I'm confident they'll fold.

The only thing with this group of players is sometimes complacency sets in and we just don't fight well enough and can look surprised when we're not controlling the game. It's rare but it happened in a similarly intense and high stakes game against United, so that's the main source of my nerves.

Thats my biggest fear for this game. Not being up to it and winning 50/50s all over the pitch. There is no excuse from our players in this game but just have to be switched on. We're a much better football side quality wise but that could mean fuck all if we get battered all over the pitch.

One potential benefit of that shitshow yesterday is that our first team will see it as necessary (and an opportunity) to stamp their authority and reassert our dominance on Wednesday to the world.

A kind of … ‘the starting eleven would never underperform, we’re mentality monsters’ statement..

I am pumped for this. The narrative post Plymouth is also that we are a wounded beast, and vulnerable. But we played a completely different team.

Our last couple of full strength games have been completely controlled and clinical.

4-0 Spurs
4-1 Ipswich
2-0 Bournemouth

I want an unlikely hero in this - a Gakpo hat trick perhaps. Or a Gravy worldie to make my fellow Dirty Slot @MomoWASright happy
