Because the rest of the PL is shit we have been getting away with it.

We did against Burnley and Leicester, but it's obvious we will get found out against better teams. We've rode our luck a few times, City and Chelsea are (obviously) the two who will punish us and have punished us previously.

It's daft really, because when we are defending in normal game play, in numbers, we are good at cutting out danger because we have good defenders, the problem is definitely with the system and not cutting out quick balls on the break. I don't know what the answer is, you are always going to face those balls over the top, so it doesn't really matter who you have in midfield, you're not going to cut out that early pass every time. It's a risky gameplay, and one where we either have to accept we will give away chances like that knowing that Allison is quick off his line, not every team we face is that clinical, and we will score more anyway. It's a dangerous one and none of that remedies the obvious issue that we will pay against good teams. And when league titles are now largely being decided by those games, it's a risk we need to have a plan B for.

Heh, very blunt but makes a reasonable point.
Alisson wasn't MOM against Leicester. He hardly saw the ball. He made saves from offsides in the last game, which means the defence played pretty great. Capello's point is weak.

They are behind AC Milan in Serie A.
How good could they be? Because Milan were shite.
They’ve both improved as the season’s gone in. Inter plays good pressing football, looks after the ball well and would have given Real a genuine run for the top were it not for some third-rate finishing.

Thanks. I'll cling to the third-rate finishing then.

@mark1975 , the ball over the top issue is not what I am talking about, but your point stands. I am just pointing out that we dont have a midfield that is equipped well enough to handle opposition midfields that are able to take the fight to us. Its a massive problem in my view.

Would have thought Firmino was important for his back tracking, sitting on their playmaker, with that midfield not the most defensively sound.

Elliott is being trusted more and more in important games. He is now the number 3 midfielder in the squad, isn't he? Ahead of Keita and maybe even Henderson?

No surprises from Inter, 34-year-old Vidal comes in for suspended Barella. Some Inter fans wanted Alexis Sanchez to start instead of Lautaro, who has been on a bit of a dry run lately…

Yeah, big chance for him. I really didn’t think Klopp would throw him into this kind of game from the start, excited to see what he does!

It's a surprise..not a shock but it's a brave move. Elliott will have to get back as extra cover for Trent. Inter won't come out 100mph..but still we will have to keep it very tight.
