Just watched parts of the training vid. Seems like we have a fully fit squad. Hendo was training normally.
Will be interesting to see who Klopp picks.

Pretty sure the starting midfield will be Fabinho-Thiago-Henderson. Only questions are Konate-Matip and Mane-Diaz - good options either way.

Not sure about that after reading Klopp's comments. Yes Hendo trained, but apparently he didn't participate in the entire session.

For some reason I think that Klopp isn't going to take any chances with rotation.
Salah, Jota and Mané up front.
Thiago, Fabinho and Keita in midfield.
Regular back 4 and keeper.
I think Klopp will be more willing to take chances against Norwich.

He is far from the only player who struggles somewhat after coming back from an injury. You need one game to get your instincts and feeling for the ball back.

it’s getting difficult to tell form from decline with some of our lads though, that’s the problem with covid and being around 30, nobody is sure.

Not specifically talking about Hendo either, it’s Mane and Bobby too.

This will be a very tough match and Inter are a very good team. Sure they dont play teams like us very often, but on the other hand we dont either.
Tactical savvy, great defence and set up in a way that might suffocate our game plan.

True, but the Italian teams are really not used to the pressure on the ball.
They shit their kecks when it happens.

Inter will both press and look after the ball well. Its problem seems to be converting chances.

We’re not in a position for players to be finding form. We need to win every game for the rest of the season.

Away goals rule changes..I’d forgot ! Dipstick I am..just in case anyone else did ..although I bet it’s only me ha.Edit: .in all honesty still can’t get me head round it ..

In June 2021 UEFA abolished the away goals tiebreaker beginning with the 2021-22 season, and make no mistake about it: It's a massive update on the football scene which will likely change the way that two-leg series have historically been played.
The away goals tiebreaker rule had been around for over 50 years (since 1965) and it will no longer factor into a team's strategy. The European governing body indicated that it made the move based on feedback from the football community and citing sporting justice.

We're about to find out what impact it will have with the UEFA Champions League and other European cup competitions resuming with their knockout rounds in February 2022, consisting of two-leg, home-and-home series in which the winner is the team with the most aggregate goals over both matches.

I thibk we all know what the main issue is. Our midfielders .... not our attacking LW or RW, other than Fab, the rest dont have the legs to properly do whats needed in Klopps system, some did maybe 2 seasons ago but not anymore. Thats why we dont have control in many games and leak goals. Against any willing midfield who have half decent players we seem to struggle. Keep losing those battles and we are always gonna struggle.

Fabs has been great, but I don't think as a midfield we have been dominating, they all get bypassed easily including Fabs. Milner has lost his legs, Hendo is clearly struggling with the back injury. So that's two of our more robust and dominating midfielders. You don't then get away with it when you're playing the likes of Jones, or a half fit and hit and miss Keita. We need Elliott up to speed ASAP and Henderson and/or Thiago back to their full fitness.

So yeah, there's been a problem for a few games, but it's not without explanation, it's obvious. And it's not dead and buried with players being "past it". Maybe Milner is, understandably, but there's no reason why Thiago and Henderson can't get back to the required levels again, even if long term we do need to buy.

Yes, those injuries ruin how we play. Henderson and Milner are no longer (temporarily for Henderson?) able to move around the pitch and miss the passing ability of Keita, Thiago and probably Elliott. Add the current state of Firmino to the list and you can see why we aren’t controlling games as we’d expect.

We are losing the ball too often and the opposition get that chance to lump it over our fullbacks, break and overload on fabs/Matip/van Dijk.

If we have that better ball control and passing ability we lessen those balls over the top. We also increase our chances to score.

If this means that Capello is going to go on the offensive against us then bring it on.
