I missed the whole game, was still at work. Can something give the dirty? How did we lose this one?
from where i was sitting it looked like shelvey blocked it on the line rather than missed a tap in, think he should have came off 2nd half, as good as he was the first he was just as bad the secondDominated them first half, got caught cold at the start of the 2nd when they scored and never looked as confident as we did again.
I thought we would have fared better if Shelvey hadn't missed a tap in and Henderson was kept on,

First half, we were excellent. Shelvey scored a beautifully worked first goal. Started the move outside the box, played it to Downing on the right wing, and then burst into the box. Downing played a lovely right-footed cross for an unmarked and arriving Shelvey to head home. The space for Shelvey was created by an excellent run by Borini which took out both their central defenders. Thereon, the first half was a masterclass in keeping possession. Didn't really do much in the attacking third, but the one-touch ball retention was really excellent. We easily had about 70% possession. Udinese could barely touch the ball.I missed the whole game, was still at work. Can something give the dirty? How did we lose this one?
rubbish defending which cost us the match.
Credit where it's due... Henderson played well last night.
In fact it was 1-1 when he went off and Gerrard coming on really monged things up.
I haven't seen the game again but didn't Gerrard lose possession again again again for the goals?

Second half, 30 seconds in, Glenjo gave the ball away in our half. This was pounced upon by Udinese, who strung a few excellent passes, and finished emphatically through Di Natale. Changed the game completely, possession became a lot more even. The defence was stretched and exposed, we weren't snuffing out anything in midfield, and as per usual, we looked like conceding on every Udinese attack (which weren't that many though).
Rodgers brought on Suarez and Gerrard to try and get the win, but we gave a second goal shortly, which was very very soft. Soft cross floated into the box. Coates made no effort to challenge it, until the very last moment, and and ended up heading it in himself. Minutes later, we conceded the third. Ball played into Di Natale in the box, who played keepy-up in the box before laying it off for a runner from midfield (who no one was covering, acres of space left).
Suarez got one back moments later with an absolute screamer of a free-kick. Last 10-15 minutes, we tried to step it up. Stevie, Suarez, and Sterling were pretty forceful, and we threatened to score (and probably would have if we had more time on the clock), but we couldn't.
Pretty entertaining game, with some excellent football played, but rubbish defending which cost us the match.
Er, what?Glenjo? Glenjo? What the fuck are you talking about?
Yes. Gave the ball away on the edge of their box and all of a sudden its in our net. He did it a number of times in the twenty minutes I saw.

Even the best players in the world do that.
It's a serious problem that we've concede goals after giving away possession deep in the opposition half so often this season, and have looked completely vulnerable countless times too.
Teams know that simply leaving a couple of pacey attackers close to the halfway line pretty much guarantees shots on goal against us when we inevitably lose possession.
I don't know whether it's Rodgers' or the fault of the midfielders and fullbacks but we need to sort it quick.
The more games we lose, the more deflated we'll be and less confident of playing to the style we're working towards.
Clean sheets please!
I was just answering the question.
I think Rodgers described our defending as "lazy"
