I don't understand this attitude, it's pretty much the same with the entire Ayre/Konoplyanka situation. Staying positive is overrated.

I think we underestimate how difficult it is to take a squad of 2-3 winners and transform them into a team that actually believes they can take this step forward. Spurs thought they had done it 2 years ago and now they're struggling to maintain that. Everton a few years back too. Man United are desperate to maintain that 'winner's attitude' and 'belief' that they deserve their UCL spot.

Despite my undying faith in DA, Rodgers has taken a team that had been 'challenging for 6th' attitude wise (bar a few) and talent wise. We're punching above our weight now partially because players believe in what Rodgers is preaching, but also partially because there's been a major switch in the team. There's a cockiness (which isn't always good, as we've seen a few times this year) and a belief that we can play with anyone, and win.

So yes, the key here is to stay on a positive role and let the talent dictate wins -- as Sturridge and Suarez will most games. Finish 4th this year and then the task is to take that to the next level.

That being said ... Is it a poor result? Yes. No ifs buts or ands.

He hasn't looked right since that knock a month or so ago, he's playing within himself again. We don't seem to have many options though to take him out the firing line for a bit.

I think that's due to being a 'DM' in theory and letting Coutinho push forward. If Allen starts near Gerrard, and Henderson pushes up, he will kick into gear again I think (or hope).

Yeah, Hendo along with Suarez (since he started playing this season) are the only ones who haven't had a break, everyone else has had a break because of injury or being dropped.

Mig doesn't seem to trust himself to put his foot right through the ball when clearing it.

He was horrendous with his kicking today, couple of great saves though.

Did Kelly complete a pass or win a header? I don't know where this myth comes from that he can be a great player, even more laughable that he can be a great centre back, he's one dimensional dross.

He has been terrible since back. What amazes me is that he was terrible in the reserves once back from injury and yet somehow has found himself on the fringes of the 1st team again.

Fucking Victor in his interview got it bang on. Saying his boss told him to press high because we'll fuck up at the back.

It is the one thing I'm still worried about under Rodgers. Skrtel is the only one that doesn't listen and just twats it. They all should.

"It tells you everything about our expectancy now; we came here and lost, and lost at home to West Brom, last year. So to get four points out of six shows the improvement.
"For us to be disappointed with a point away from home in the Barclays Premier League shows the growth of the team. We've done brilliantly up until this point.

i know , i know , it's just manager talk but i hate comments like this . We're liverpool , they are West Brom , we should always expect to beat them if we work hard and play to the level of this club .

I think he's just trying to keep morale up - the team is probably really pissed off on many levels, and he wants to keep their heads up and focused on Arsenal. Beating them will give us a major push.

I really dont understand the lack of pressing from one game to the next. Obviously our oppositions tactics change every game, but basics from us like pressing seems to happen one game, not the next. We play much much better when we play at a high tempo and press and harass the opponents, but today we seemed to back off and stroll around, letting them dictate. Is this a fitness thing? Are they not fit enough to press and harass every game?

How many free kicks did we get in the oppositions half where we managed to end up passing it back to Ming only for him to hoof it?

Utterly fucking pointless!

I guess today just highlighted our glaring issues, we need fullbacks, we need to stop pissing about with the ball at the back, we need a domineering midfielder, we need to stop thinking we just have to turn up to beat the minnows.

We've come a long way this season, we've sorted out our attacking game for the most part (though it was off today), we need to keep building to improve and that means identifying and capturing targets in the key positions where we're lacking.

The really annoying thing about Kolo's fuck up is that it would have been exactly the kind of scrappy 0-1 win that would boost confidence this time of year (ie. still win when playing shite).

Toure's robbed us of a huge win through sheer stupidity today.

I don't blame Toure. It could've just as easily been someone else.

There was a lot of sloppy passing from pretty much everyone in the side today and ultimately we paid a price for not being sharp enough and putting the game to bed when it was well within our grasp.

We've been taught the same lesson a few times already this season and it would seem that it's not sinking in.

Extremely pissed off.

I rarely get overly emotionally arsed about us these days, but that was as frustrating as all cunt.

I wanted to tear the fucking TV off the wall, swim to the Hawtorns and smash it over Gerrard's head.

IT'S A DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD POSITION YOU FRUSTRATING FUCK, NOT A THIRD CENTRE BACK.

What in good fuck was he doing all day? Why the fuck did he continually drop into the gap at centre back? Jesus all cunt Christ that was annoying to watch. Surely that wasn't an instruction from Brodge was it? Even if it was, why didn't he change it and tell him to stop? We couldn't play it out from the back all day long because there was no fucking holding midfielder to receive it. All day long just big hoofs from Toure and Skrtel cos there's no one in the centre of the pitch to give it to. Even West Brom's goal - what is Gerrard's fucking position? He's nowhere. Just standing (not moving by the way) in a direct line between Toure and Skrtel. Which is what he did for 90 minutes. Create a fucking angle you self-indulgent dick. Move up the fucking ground.

^^^^^^^^^^ See that big gap to the right of Gerrard and Skrtel - it's where the fucking idiot should have been. Not just there, but for the 90 minutes. It's where Lucas stands, it's where any defensive midfielder stands. Fuck off Gerrard.

And then we're 1-1, and for the last 20 minutes he fucks up Brodge's 3-5-2 by going 4 at the back to plug the gap agai. I lost my shit at this stage. Stop filling in, we need to win the game you fucking idiot. But no, I'll just slide in here as Kolo wanders forward again and see's a 50 metre gap in front of him because we have nobody playing in midfield today.

Fuck right off.

And just so you don't think I'm singling Gerrard out, the rest of them (bar Sterling, why is a 19 year old kid the only one who gave a fuck?) can lick my balls too. 3 points is 3 points regardless of whether you're playing Everton or a fucking rank West Brom side. All of them ambling around looking at their reflections in their boots, wandering why they haven't been passed the ball perfectly. Go and make it happen you indulgent dicks. Watch them raise themselves for Saturday now too cos the big cameras are in town again. Fuck off.

Fuck off with that attitude.
Fuck off Gerrard.
Fuck off with the last 20 years of watching results go our way on a Saturday, then fucking it up on Sunday.

Flat today, very flat. Typical Liverpool, smash 4 past Everton in the Derby then follow it up with a shitty performance and dropped points against relegation fodder.

Where was the pressing? Where was the urgency? Where was the sharp and precise passing that we saw on Tues night and plenty of other times this season?

It has to be an attitude/mentality thing because if we were fired up and on our game, we'd have wiped the floor with West Brom. Maybe it's just sheer naivety and arrogance, 'ah we beat Everton 4-0, so we just have to turn up and we'll beat this lot no probs'.

Big opportunity missed. Disappointing.

Doesn't lucas drop between the centre backs to pick the ball up quite often also ?

and like mentioned , if rodgers didn't want him doing that he should have told him to stop .

He runs in there the odd time to pick it up, but he spends 99% of his time at defensive midfield, cos y'know - THAT'S THE FUCKING POSITION.

Joe Allen's the player in our squad most suited to playing with his back to goal.

Hendo struggled today too, didn't really show for the ball and get involved.
