Missed a good opportunity to pull away for fourth and any possibility of getting higher has pretty much evaporated.

Another of Mignolet's weaknesses cost us, this time distribution, perhaps unfairly but the points he has cost us this season come more readily to mind than the ones he has won for us.... In hindsight having seen over half the season I would have prefered we had spent the money on another position.

Feel sorry for Toure although it was dozy as all fuck.... As soon as Anichebe came on and the commentator mentioned that he had never scored against us in 10 attempts for the Blue shite it was inevitable....

Threw away points against a shite team we should have beaten... but didn't deserve to win which is worse in a way... we looked flat all over really...

He'd be better in that role than Gerrard though, I'll give you that. I'd be inclined to drop Hendo and push Gerrard into his spot, and play Allen deeper. Unlikely to happen though.

If Chelsea lose today - and I certainly hope they do as I don't mind Citeh and I really dislike the London clubs - we'd have gained a point on them, and moved within 3 points of third. So, yeah, we could still have a shot of ending higher, if only marginally. Even a draw for them still leaves us with 4 points to make up, which is attainable. It's all to play for when they come to Anfield under any of these scenarios.

But fuck, am I pissed today with that stupid result we got.

Back to our team proper - does anyone else think perhaps we should go back to playing just two out of the trio of Sturridge, Sterling and Coutinho? I feel we have had much better balance and consistent pressure/energy with Henderson and Allen at the front rank of our midfield - and I think we played our best football this season with the duo there - leaving Coutinho or Sterling to ride in on Cissokho's slipstream when opponents inevitably give our fullback the freedom of the pitch to roam.

Obviously, someone is going to be unhappy with this, be it a fan or one of the trio. On the other hand though, it means we have a potential game changing player on the bench we can throw onto the pitch. On current form, Coutinho would be my choice to sit.
