Two words - disappointing, wasteful.

We should have won this comfortably. There was just a lack of urgency from the players - we created chances, but we just seemed to lack that killer instinct. This is a big opportunity missed. But we need to be positive - still 2 points ahead of Everton, 4 ahead of Spurs, and 7 ahead of Manure.

Most disappointing to me was the lack of urgency after we conceded. Still had half an hour left to find a goal and we just sleepwalked around the pitch.

Freaking awful.

If Martin Kelly never plays another game for Liverpool I wouldn't be too sad.

Again, our full-back options left us well short out wide. Flanno had a solid game and looks like he'll do well with the chance to establish himself there at right-back, but with Cissokho offering nothing going forward and Kelly looking like he should be nowhere near the first team we're really sub-standard there.

Can't be positive after that. We stunk against Villa, we did so again today. One good performance in between. Unless we get some things sorted Champions League dream will remain just that - a dream.

We looked tired and had a bit of a backlash from the Derby.
Awful to give away 2 points.
Suarez needs a rest, shame he cant get it.

We didnt deserve anything but 1 point after that poor 2nd half.

Ah well. Onwards and upwards. Lets beat Arsenal

Furious. West Brom were a bunch of cunts that game, about 1400 cynical fouls on Sterling, and did fuck all but accept a gift from Kolo. Suarez was poor, really poor, Sturridge anonymous, Coutinho was good as we Sterling. That's about it. Big problem with that game was that in the players heads, we'd already won it. We now have to get a result against Arsenal, which I doubt we will, at least the players might fucking bother.

No attacking impetus on the left side. Cissokho may get the ball into advanced areas but he isn't going to do anything with it.

And for the record, today was exactly why we needed Konplyanka. Fucking cunts Dnipro.

Mingolet's saves - on the corner and the Brunt free kick - were top notch. Sterling was the best player on the pitch.

Suarez buries that one on one (great save by Foster) and we win comfortably ... Pity ... A game of inches.

You teach 5 year olds not to make make those kinda passes, toure that was shite!

Cost us 3 points

Again, not really.

We were in cruise control and they didn't look like scoring, until Kolo fucked up.

No one would have moved for Eugene, and there's no guarantee he would have settled quickly

Just, epic sigh. Yeah for the most part they pressed well but christ where was the inventiveness? Did we exploit Raheem's pace? No. Did we continue to run their fullbacks when it had worked 3-4 times in the first half? No. Did we make a stupid mistake, invite pressure, and lump lofty balls up aimlessly? Yes.

Again, epic sigh.

Did Kelly complete a pass or win a header? I don't know where this myth comes from that he can be a great player, even more laughable that he can be a great centre back, he's one dimensional dross.

Toure should have belted it up the field.
Mistakes happen but we need to be more cynical.

When we went down (and before) we looked toothless up front, he's exactly the type of attacking substitution we needed. Mistakes happen, we need to be able to do something about it when they do.

We didn't play well, no sense of urgency. Couldn't complete our final passes. Saying that, I don't think WBA offered anything other than some 2nd half hustle and bustle and a lot of fouling. If Toure hadn't gifted them that goal, we would have won.

Sterling showed good desire today, Ming made some good saves and Gerrard and Skrtel dominated, but that's about it, I thought Allen did well when he came on, the rest were too busy strolling around in the sunshine, Sturridge really fucked me off today, he's a great striker but he can't half be a lazy cunt, and the little competitive bitterness between him and Suarez is wearing thin. If he spent more time trying to ensure we kept the ball, instead of gobbing off to team mates and the crowd, he might have helped us win.

But that sub wouldn't improve our attitude.

Our attack (bar sterling) looked like they just had to turn up to win.

We went downhill more when Coutinho went off

This fucking around with the ball at the back has been getting on my tits for ages and it was always going to eventually cost us with a fuck up.

But what I don't get is why Kolo thought Skrtel made the most sense.

Gerrard or Mignolet are open. Why Skrtel?

Struggling to find any positives when we blow a great result from last week and a solid set of results from the weekend games. Days like this when we can't get things to work up front happen; the least you could hope for is for the team to avoid silly defensive mistakes and that was as big a howler as they come.

Absolutely deflating. And it could've been worse had they capitalized on the free kicks that Skrtel seemed determined to give away once Anichebe came on. Just what is it with Skrtel and physical guys? His balls seem to shrink the moment he sees one on the pitch and he starts making totally boneheaded plays.

We could've gone into next weekend's big tie with the wind in our sails but now we're possibly going into the game with them potentially having opened up the gap to us by another two points instead. Really frustrating to drop 2 points this way.

Oh a word about WBA. What a horrible team. They're as bad as West Ham.

The freekick they got off Skrtel was becuase Kelly dithered and fucked around, Skrtel threw himself at the ball to bail Kelly out, he does get deserved flack for being all over players, I thought that decision was harsh, he kept his hands to himself and went for the ball, he had a good game today.

My point in the match thread was very simple, we lost their quite badly last season but managed to get a draw at least after playing a mid-week game. In previous years this was a dead cert lost game. Seriously we would have lost that game in previous years - and the players the squad as a whole is not large enough to cope with more than one game a week. I have many friends who have commented on the size of our squad being very small - and it's true if you look at it. We are so lucky not to be in the league cup, and Europa competition - otherwise I reckon we would be somewhere in 10th.

so we needed a goal (at 1-1) yet the subs made were Allen and Kelly . Did anyone feel they'd do anything to help us get a win ? They felt more like "well take a draw" subs . OK i understand how it's very hard to take Suarez or sturridge off but why couldn't aspas , alberto or moses come on for coutinho ? Most likely because they're crap but Rodgers bought them so i don't have too much sympathy when people say we have no options on the bench . It may be true but it's our own fault .
