Yeah, he seems to have been forgotten by the media, which has been distracted by the fans' mischief and Chelsea's inconsistency. He's having another amazing season - kicked on from his 12 goals and 20 assists Chelsea debut (all comps), and is currently at 18 and 24. He's definitely going to hit 20-20 in all competitions for a English Premier League club - I believe he's the first person to do that since Ronaldo did it in 06/07 (23-20).

Completely forgot about Michu!. Actually I'd put him ahead of Mata because, unfortunately, Carrick deserves to be in there. United's midfield has been thoroughly average this season and yet they're 12 points clear and the only consistent midfield performer has been Carrick.

I can understand carricks name being mentioned but Mata has scored 18 and assisted 23 in a season of turmoil. He's an understated player, but definitely one deserving of high praise. Carrick, I can't say I've overly noticed doing anything more than usual. Great when given the time and space, a bit meh under pressure.
