This will be an interesting challenge. Some new names at Palace however none of them started on Saturday so they are a relatively predictable prospect at this stage which could be to our benefit.

I would expect Fabinho to come back for this one, and to be deployed as I guess a DM is going to be used more away from home.

---------------Alisson-------------
TAA---Gomez--VVD---Robbo
--------------Fabinho--------------
---------Milner-----Keita---------- after Sunday i'd 100% have Milner over Gini if Fabs starts
-Salah------Firmino-----Mane--

Anyone expecting anything different? Surely still too soon for Hendo to be in contention and it looks like TAA now has the nod over Clyne at RB although with Zaha, Schlupp & Van Aarnholt down that side it might be one for a more defensive minded full back.

Milner will probably help out Trent and Fabinho can sweep across when needed. It's a nice feeling when I don't mind which of our midfielders start. It's Keita plus two for me already. Milner deserves to play on recent form coming into the game so that leave a coin toss for the last spot. Shaqiri and Sturridge to come on for last 15 mins again.

Fabinho or Hendo (hendo IMO) will definitely come in for the palace game i reckon. Away from home we will need a bit more protection.

Same team, although I'd be a bit worried about Benteke bullying JoGomez.

Also, Palace are very athletic, so we probably need more protection/sweeping in midfield, so I'd expect Fab/Hendo to come in for Gini or Milner.

Either way, we have NOW have the team AND bench to draw Palace's sting on the counter and then beat them late.

I expect the same starting XI. Why change it?

We are playing a different team in a different stadium. I like Gini but he was better when he was released from defensive duties and freedom to roam forwards. Fabinho looks a better bet as a holder.

Yea I'd go with Fabinho over Gini if fit. Keita is the only certainty. Toss up on the other midfield two.

Could be a difficult game this. Dont like playing Palace away, Zaha or Hodgson.
They looked solid against Fulham and will give us a fight.
Will be a tight game and we’ll have to be on top of our game to get the 3 points.

Palace away is a fearsome atmosphere, particularly when it is their curtain-raiser at home. I'd much rather blood Fabinho in a nice home game (as was surely intended) rather than the cauldron of Selhurst park. I'd be tempted to go Hendo, Milner, Keita in midfield. That's a trio that will let nobody down.

Zaha fucking tortured AA in this fixture last season. If we know anything about Klopp it is that he always gives his players a shot at redemption, so I expect him to play, though part of me would like Clyne to get a run out. The rest picks itself.

My thoughts exactly. Something about that ground gives me the heebie jeebies.

But we need to get points whichever way.

Benteke is so, so, so, s, so, so utterly shit. I fucking hate him. One of my most despised ex-reds ever. Embarrassing.
Fully expect him to score a brace for the only time all season.

We’re gonna smash them. This will be us making our first major statement. Sunday got a lot of “it’s just West Ham” but if we go to an unhappy hunting ground and tear them apart it’ll cause early troubles to our rivals. Bring it on.

I watched the Fulham v CP game.
We really need to stop that left wing of theirs. Van Aanholt, Schlupp and Zaha are dangerous.
I trust Van Dijk to take care of Benteke.
Id love for us to play with an attacking lineup again but I think Klopp really should consider playing both Clyne and Fabinho this time. Why not play both TAA and Clyne? Clyne at RB and TAA at RCM like Milner?

Much tougher game. A smashing of palace would be a great sign for us though.

Question marks imo are Wijnaldum and TAA. Trent was probably the worst on the field last week and a reliable backup is available. Gini played well but players more suited to this game might be available.

Why on earth would be play TAA in midfield when we have so many high quality midfielders. And in place of Milner ? 🙄

Klopp will probably counter the threat of Van Aanholt & Schlupp by having TAA & Salah push up high to make them consider over committing. This will cause us all anxiety

So glad someone started this thread - we have 5 days before the game - lets make it a 100 pager chaps - maybe @Oncey can introduce food into it to keep it going. Any I say again - what c*nt decided to make us play on a Monday - it's so long away.

First issue I have with the initial post is the midfield - they were so good - Gini - how can we leave him out ? not sure if the Fab should be introduced into this game - as Palace are fast and big physically. Also I would prefer Clyne over TAA in this one - did not TAA have problems dealing with Zaha last season ? - those are the changes I would make. Would not be surprised if Klopp started with Henderson, Milner, and Keita.
