Jose Mourinho is understood to have called Paul Pogba “a virus” in the dressing room at full time and told the player: “You don’t play. You don’t respect players and supporters. And you kill the mentality of the good honest people around you.” #mufc [Duncan Castles]

Redcafe in full blown monkey aids breakout over Klopp running onto the pitch.

This made me chuckle, the response by Jev

Fucking hell! Is that really true? Sounds a bit like bollocks to me. If it is true then it must my birthday! How funny is that?! See ya Pogshit and Special Cunt. Shame as you were doing a great job of entertaining us.

They have obviously given up the season Down M62 (Jose claiming 4th will be impossible) and so the Caf has started to ask questions if this is a fraud to the People who has bought season tickets. One even listed the Law claimning Directors are to act in the Companies best behalf and looking ways to sue Woodward. Not sure who is most hated there at the moment.... Jose or Woodward. They really are special ones both of them. Special cunts. Long must they continue to run that shame of a Club.

One of the angrier guys deliver this beauty of a summary:

"[bcolor=transparent]
We're a joke of a club, simple. It's almost embarrassing how far we've fallen in the space of 5 fecking years.
[/bcolor]

[bcolor=transparent]
You know what's even worse? There doesn't seem to be a way out of this demise. There are no worthy managers available and we have a squad stacked with shit players. In the current market it would take us at least 3 seasons to replace our squad excl. Shaw, Martial, Pogba & De Gea. In those 3 years would we even hold on to 3/4 of those worthy players? Probably not.
[/bcolor]

[bcolor=transparent]
While trying to get great players in, we have to compete with much more promising destinations (Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern, City & Liverpool). Which will probably lead to even more overpaid mediocre players.
[/bcolor]

He's really not. He's using his PR guy, Castles, to promote a story that essentially Pogba is undermining all Mourinho's brilliant work and that he's getting the best out of what he has, and that what he has is a bag of shite. It's all bollocks, because anyone with half a brain can see that other managers would be getting much more of a tune out of the squad than Maureen, but that's the version of events he's trying to sell. They need someone to blame for their woeful style of play and poor performances this season and he's trying to pin it on other people.

Worryingly I think they actually have a good squad and the right man in charge might get something out of them. Hopefully Jose sticks around.

I heard John Motson on the radio at the weekend saying something along the lines of "united fans have to deal with the fact they're just another club these days, they're nothing special" that must sting.[/bcolor][/i][/bcolor][/i][/bcolor][/i]

They have a decent Squad, no doubt. But it is one of the most expensive Squads ever assembled. However, I believe the Squad is unbalanced and poisoned by having some of the worst ego's in football around. Pogba is probably a supertalent, but doesn't dodge a bullet for the team when needed. Matic is their midfield hardman, but slow Down their game a lot. Fred might or might not be good, noone knows. Lukaku is exactly what they bought. Sanchez is a superstar in his own eyes, but can't bother move his feet. Martial and Rashford are good talents, and can of course become a major boost for them. De Gea is a world beater but his contract is running Down.

Around that core group they have Extreme average players combined with quite a few not even average. Common for many of them is that they are probably fitted for a role that doesn't exist, and hence they keep on changing formation from week to week. Happy days.

Jose accepts 7th is not good enough for @ManUtd "I can agree even though the investment Everton made was phenomenal. I don’t think Everton will be in front of Man Utd by end of season. Six teams should be in first six position."

I saw a video the other day... some of the Man Utd squad were asked, if they could have lunch with one famous person, who would it be? Herrera and Mata said people like Maradona and Cantona. Chief rem Jesse Lingard said Kevin Hart. Sums up the split in mentality at the club for me. God knows who Pogba would've picked. Drake or whoever made up the floss, no doubt.

Ha. I had to google who Kevin hart is. I can't stand Lingard and Herrera (obviously). However, Mata I can tolerate.

I saw a video of Lingard when he was driving his car back from training through Manchester. He was talking to a Billboard with a picture of himself. It was a lot of «what are you looking at!»

He must be one of the biggest cunts, ever.

Yeah Herrera is obviously a cunt on the pitch, but he's a footballer and does actually come across as quite intelligent... Lingard and Pogba are trying to get Instagram famous while playing football on the side.

Good job their side job pays well...

Castles is the club's PR guy, not Mourinho's. He'll hype up the manager if it suits his own agenda, but as soon as he thinks the club is ready to ditch Mourinho he'll be the first to stab him in the back. At the moment his reports are pliable enough to be read in different ways, and that is how he wants it - put it out there and see who it helps and who it harms.

Fairly sure he works for Mendes principally - he's constantly bigging up Gestifute's clients, whenever he writes pieces on Ronaldo he makes pointed reference to him being better than Messi. He's written articles lauding Mourinho's tenure at Inter, Porto and Real Madrid and consistently slags off any managerial 'rival'. He has been slating Woodward since the summer and parroting the line about Mourinho not getting enough support. I don't think he's aligned with the mancs at all, he was doing the same stuff when Mourinho was at Chelsea.

While the reason(s) he gives might be nonsense, he's right overall about Woodward IMO. Woodward's done well enough as a money man but he's not fit to lick David Gill's boots in terms of footballing nous (principally getting transfers across the line, but in Woodward's case making the right appointments also). Well as they've done financially, (a) they were always going to and (b) they could have done a lot better still if the football side had been got right.

He certainly has an established link to Mendes, but he has the same with a couple of other agents. But he's a journalist and he relies for his regular commissions on his sources at certain clubs, and for him in recent years that's been Manchester as a city and primarily Utd. Agents give you useful info occasionally. Clubs give you info chronically. So any hack will be most protective of his or her club sources. Ties with agents are much more precarious - potentially invaluable for big transfer/manager stories, but way too unreliable for sustaining a weekly presence as a journalist. Castles will happily help Mourinho when it suits him, but if Mourinho alienates the club's hierarchy then he'll equally happily drop him like a stone. Yes, he'll help him again if and when Maureen is looking for other jobs, but there's no strong loyalty there.

Ah. Fair enough. I thought given the volume of stories around Mendes clients he was essentially a mouthpiece for Mendes but perhaps not in that case.

I wouldn't say essentially, but you're quite right that he's sometimes more than happy to fulfil that role for him and a couple of others.

Key points from the presser:

  • "We have the capacity in our team to try and make it difficult for Fulham."
  • On Claudio Ranieri: "He is an honest and good man who created a beautiful fairytale."
  • The manager feels he has the fans' backing. "They are shouting The Special One's Army every week."
  • On potential player unrest: "When you are not willing to follow the principles of the philosophy, then there is only one way and that is out."
  • On whether the club has progressed since this time last year: "When you see the facts, we have qualified from a hard Champions League group. I would call that progress."
  • On whether the fans have a right to be disappointed by the league position: "I feel that the expectation is very high, especially the fans. They are expecting a lot. But I think these expectations are much too high, and we are a team in transition, and that I have said when I started here."
  • On whether rivals Liverpool can challenge for the title: "Of course. They are a fantastic team and we as a club should aspire to be as them."
  • On whether he feels the United job is harder now with more teams challenging for the title: "I actually think if Sir Alex was here this year it would be difficult for Sir Alex as well, and I'm sure he'd be aware of it. I think people are aware this is a squad in transition, so I think it would have been a tough season for probably whoever was in charge of Manchester United this year."
  • Could you explain why you view finishing second last year as one of your greatest achievements?
    “Because I’m not speaking about our own situation but you can finish 10th, I’m not saying us, I’m saying a team can finish 10th and a manager feels like a champion. Correct?
    “If you speak with David Wagner, Rafa Benitez, Claudio [Ranieri] now, if you speak with them and tell them you are going to finish 10th they will feel like a champion, I made a fantastic job, I stayed in front of many teams with more potential than my team, last season I finished second and I felt we stayed ahead of teams with more potential than us. It’s as simple as that.”

    How is Fred adapting to life at Manchester United?
    “Step by step, you have also other players in other clubs that needed their time and you have some of them that played even less than what Fred is playing. I think Fred, when the team is defensively stronger and doesn’t need in midfield, people that is more worried in giving balance to the team than being involved in creation and attacking dynamic, the day we are stronger defensively I think the horizons for Fred change completely.”

As you can imagine, RedCafe is in full meltdown mode. I don't think there is anyone left who defends Jose any more. He must be very close to the sack and a well-deserved Christmas holiday.

The situation is completely hopeless. This club has no direction, no leadership, and a completely toxic element.

I have given up. No elite club would still have Mourinho in charge, and no elite club would let Woodward manage football operations.

An absolute joke of a situation. Mourinho and Woodward are an embarrassment to the badge and the club's great history.

I think we all hope they persevere with Jose and the team continue to look bang average , Is it wrong to wish them not to lose this weekend ?
