I've been having a laugh over at Blue Moon, as City fans now go out of their way to support their boss and their nation state for locking up PhD students.
Some nice whataboutism here:
I see the press are taking the big bad UAE have jailed a British subject who must be innocent because his wife says he is and dont they know he is British and clever therefore he cannot possibly be guilty and its up to Pep and Man City to speak out on behalf of this travesty. I wish I could be a journalist who know all the ins and outs of an affair without any knowledge or information and set myself up as an arbiter of justice as I see it
Where is the call for the Glazers and Kronke to speak out about all the travesties of justice happening in America under Trump and others. What about all the calls for British owners to condemn the unlawful treatment of UK citizens in Guantanamo Bay by the British Government. What about the calls for Abramovic to condemn the crimes perpertrated by his close friend Putin. Why is no-one condemning the sponsorship deals with the UAE and Russia for United and Arsenal and how they are "sportwashing" (my least favourite word ever) for these so called corrupt states.
I dont hear a word its just yet again bad City who play with the bad boys whilst everyone else do their shady secret deals with agents in the full glare of silence and journalists complicity

Ok so his trial lasted 5 minutes which seems a tad quick. Mind you it lasted a damn sight longer than Abdel Hakim Belhaj's trial. Ok his rendition from India to Libya lasted several hours so I think that made up for it, oh and the fact that he was then illegally held in soliatry confinement whilst they tortured him kind of makes what the UAE are doing look like a tea party. You see thats the difference, In the UK when we know we can find someone guilty we have a trial that lasts several days, when we think they will be found not guilty we dont bother having one, we just kidnap them.

I won't be holding my breath waiting for rabid media calls for Lewis Hamilton to be stripped of the 2014 F1 title that he won at the "sportwashing" GP.

You get the picture.
