It's never a good idea for our competitors to slag us off in public. Ask Pickford as well. We have a way of shoving that stuff back up their jacksies.

Don't forget the thread here where someone had posted images of LFC players looking like girls.

Remember the time someone uploaded a video of themselves, they might have been crawling around and claimed they uploaded it because some told them they looked like Stevie G.

Did I imagine this? It sounds too weird to be real.

The "leveraged buyout" is a horrible piece of financial chicanery that enables the predator to use the victim's own assets to buy it. It leaves the victim constantly struggling to service a huge debt.

Hey @Portley - Indulge a brother. Are they fucked or not? Forgive me I have no knowledge of 'leverage buyouts' - I know that those cats over at redcafe are having having kittens over the situation. It's funny watching them scramble around. I'd be lying if it wasn't a source of amusement. 🙂

Basically, you buy the asset (in this example the Mancs) in your name, essentially with your security of your own funds/net worth/assets behind you, but essentially, the asset itself pays the debt.

It’s like me saying to a bank I’m worth £1m, you live in a £100k house, lend me £100k to buy this guys house and he goes to pay the debt back with the money he makes (i.e rent) so essentially I’m making money from your house without having put a penny of my own money in. This is a really rough basic idea, someone else may be able to give you a better example or explain it better but it’s gist.

Yes, you take out a bridging loan from a bank, and use it to buy the shares in the target company and take it over. You then organise a "securitized loan" by mortgaging all the assets of the company, down to the last fucking paperclip. You pay off the original bridging loan with the proceeds of the securitized loan. You have therefore acquired the company for nothing. The snag is that the acquired company has to generate enough cash to pay the interest on the enormous loan. I reckon this is the situation in which United find themselves.

Possibly not exactly the correct thread but this fact from the beeb stopped me cold

United are paying £45m up front, making Wan-Bissaka the club's fifth-biggest signing, behind Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Angel di Maria and Fred.

Amazingly Man Utd doesn't seem to run out of cash... They've out spent City despite their performance. How long before the leaking bucket finally runs dry?

Money has changed in the game.

He’s a superb signing.

3rd for us is Naby.
6th Carroll
7th Ox

Our top 5 signings:

VVD
Becker
Keita
Fabinho
Salah

Do fuck off DB, this IS fucking hilarious

Make as personal as you like. He’s a great signing.

If we didn’t have TAA I’d love us to go for him.

Considering, his age, potential, the season he just had and their need for quality defenders he’s a fantastic signing.

Yea I wouldn't be mocking the Wan Bissaka signing, Kyle walker went for similar a few years ago and I think he was probably older at the time.

Right back is a priority in that side amongst a handful of priorities so hopefully a marginal improvement overall at best.

£45m for a young RB who’s just completed his first full season, in a career spanning 18 months and started something like 46 games in total?

There were people hailing the fortune the spent on Luke Shaw in exactly the same way.

That’s a massive amount & risk on a young player with no real pedigree over more than 1 season, whichever way you look at it.
