I watched the PSG - Barca game also (obviously).
A few points before getting onto Barca:
PSG were pretty impressive. Really well organized and also had their attackers working super hard in defence (Lucas popped up with a few super interceptions in defence, which I was surprised and impressed by).
Pastore was great. I haven't seen much of him since hearing about what a flop he's been in France but on last night's evidence they're finally starting to get their moneys worth out of him.
Loved the Marquinhos' celebration when he got that block in - reminded me of basketball. Wooooop!
Cavani was pants. Towards the end when he was put clean through and somehow allowed Maschareno to get back... awful.
Atmosphere sounded amazing. PSG fans were well up for it.
Anyways, onto Barca.
This team needs to press, press, press, as they did under Guardiola. It's absolutely key for them. Think back to how many goals we scored when Suarez would nick the ball off the opposition defence - now imagine Barca with all the players they had / have pressing the defence as a team.
Another issue is that they're simply not as quick and precise as they used to be. The loss of Xavi is huge, Pedro is hit and miss and Neymar is still a work in progress. That leaves Messi, who has had his own problems, and Iniesta. That makes the pressing game even more important. Suarez will be huge for them not just because of his talent and goals but also because he likes to work.
Was also impressed Mathieu. I didn't understand why they paid so much money for a player the wrong side of 30 but he's looking good. They need to settle on a CB partnership and stop chopping and changing.
Don't like Jordi Alba.
