I'm sure I've mentioned this before............I was so upset (as a 14 year old) when we signed Kenny. We were linked with all the top young talent to replace Keegan and our hegemonic position in England (and the £500,000 we got from Hamburg for Keegan) ensured we could get who we wanted.

I wanted Trevor Francis (Birmingham), Ian Wallace (Coventry) or Alan Curtis (Swansea) who were the bright young things of the English League and all in their early 20's but instead we got some Scottish blert who was almost 27. I soon got over my disappointment.

I'd seen this guy Dalglish a number of times playing for Celtic and Scotland and didn't get what the fuss was about. Because there *was* that fuss about him I had an inkling we might go for him, and I wasn't happy with the idea.

Never been more wrong about anything in my whole life. Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish - simply the best.
