Que Lucas hounding the ref for an explanation to why he's been booked, only for the ref to point out every foul he's made in the game and make Lucas (and Arn) look like idiots. I've lost count of the amount of times the fool tries to protest his innocence after another clumsy tackle on a player who was posing no threat.

However I think what messes the stats up & what makes him still the only (first team proven) player who can play defensively in midfield properly for us is that he can read the game well enough to break up play by sticking a foot in.
Unfortunately he can't do it well enough anymore & he seems incapable of tackling at a greater distance than a yard without missing the ball & player or being booked.
I would have genuinely preferred to see Rossiter given a go.
A player posing no threat??? So if a player runs straight through Henderson/Can/Milner isn't posing any threat, yeah right. Lucas shouldn't be in so many one on one situations that he is but because of the shit defensive play by players like Henderson/Can/Milner he is often left alone. The stats so far this season is five fouls in three games.So what you say is a lie.
Maybe you should take a look how shit players like Henderson, Milner and Can are when they try to defend. All three run around like headless chickens. Milner isn't and never will be a central midfielder even that he want to play there. He is much better out wide. He simply doesn't seem to know what to do. Henderson is great in the attacking half but simply rubbish at the other end of the pitch. Can has so far been rubbish as a central midfielder for us.
The stats probably come from the idea he can't tackle properly and has to have two or three half hearted hacks at it thus tripling his tackle stats
If he runs past Henderson Can and Milner the centre backs should deal with it
If anyone tells me they are not capable enough you won't get an argument from me - but in which case you need a proper defensive midfielder the likes of Mascherano , Didi etc

Yes we need a proper defensive midfielder but even Mascherano would struggle if he had Rodgers as manager.
The reason is that defensive midfielder in Rodgers system also must be a playmaker. He must be a Xabi. That is one reason to why we play shit. We don't have one even close to be a Xabi. Lucas isn't a Xabi, not even close. He is as great as Xabi in defense but much worse as a playmaker.

I agree with Rodgers original thought process that a defensive midfielder is for most of the time a waste of a more creative player. Certain games, however,United away, for example it's wise to have someone sit deeper , break-up play and be another line of defence before the back four. What we have seen since Lucas rose like a Phoenix from the flames is an inept plodding ineffective series of games, where far from bolstering the defence, we have had our trousers ripped off and given a right royal spanking. Yes, yes , that's not all Lucas's doing , but he's part of it, a big part of it.
I said on here years ago, until we get shut of Kuyt and Lucas we will never do anything - and that still stands.
I know a lot of people have a lot of time fir Lucas. Me? I just don't get it, and never have. He went through a purple patch a few seasons ago of four or five games, when I was prepared to eat humble pie , got injured and has reverted to somewhere between crap and average ever since. I think he's quite a nice lad by the way.

Judging by how his use of English wildly fluctuates, it is definitely someone who is trying to disguise themselves and judging from how mind numbingly boring, tedious and repetitive his posts are, I would say there is a strong likelihood that Arn is indeed Modo.
