why was he brought in mark? come on just say it. it'll do you good
He was brought in because we failed to make the champions league, which is a disproportionately high percentage of our revenue. I'm sorry that's not the answer you want, but it's a more honest answer.

revisionist bullshit. how did we win the champions league in rafa's first season if we failed to make it?

Actually that isn't true - we qualified on the last day of the season. It was Rafa's first season that we didn't make the cut.

I am not moving the goal posts,i personaly believe He was brought in to get us into the champions league and give us some continuity and some consistancy into getting into the champ league. And allow us to regularily challenge. How long did you give rafa before deciding he is a failure?
well you've yet to answer my question mark. why use 8 million as an example? why use pellagrino voronin morientes and josemi as your examples?

and now you want me banned for pulling u up on that. grow up. u were out to disguise rafa's fuck ups in the transfer market.
Well why not? They're amongst the most mentioned. When mentioning fuckups, why did you not bother to respond to the mention of United's costly fuck ups?

Everyone makes mistakes in the transfer market, and the successes for us (and most of the top teams) far outweigh the failures. I was just pointing out that the majority of our failures have been relatively low cost, which is true.

Babel was a kid, which is always a gamble (see Anderson and Nani), we'll never know the ins and outs of the Keane mess because so many rumours have surrounded the whole move, the only other relatively high cost fuck up was Dossena. Anything else has been neither here nor there. Bellamy came in and did a reasonable job for us and plugged a gap and was sold on for much the same amount, while Crouch was a success eventually and we made a great return on the lad.

We've still signed players of the calibre of Johnson, Torres, Alonso, Masher, Kuyt, Yossi, Skrtel, Agger, Aurelio, Arbeloa and Garcia. While Aquilani could yet prove a big hit, and Lucas, N'Gog and Insua have time on their side to maybe do well.

No one's saying he's been an out and out success in the transfer market, but he's been more successful than you care to give him credit for, but then, like your view on every issue surrounding this manager, there's no surprise there.

i don't give a fuck about utd's mistakes. i don't legitimise my failures by saying wel such and such a body fucked up too.

you have still to answer my question as to why on the whole you picked out the 8 million figure and players mainly from rafa's early years. your failure to do so is enough for me.

and as i have already asked you and every other rafa apologist today why was rafa brought in?

benitez has more than his fair share of shite transfers. pelegrino, voronin, josemi and morientes doesn't really scratch the surface.

i haven't got a problem with n'gog at 1.5 million but i'd have liked to have seen owen here if we could have got him on the same deal as utd did. i don't think its owen or n'gog but rather owen or voronin.
Every manager, even Paisley & Shankly, bought duds more than there fair share too. It's part of the game. The combined total of the players you mentioned doesnt even total £8m.

At least Voronin has proved he wants to play for Liverpool and for the Manager.
The £8M quote, I'm still loving the how to save £25M quote by filling our defence with 18/19 year olds
but you're no longer doubting that there is 25 million pounds there are you?
Point one - you listed the players - I've helpfulfully highlighted for you. Kopking then said the players YOU listed were worth about £8M

Point two - avoiding £25M of cost by assuming that our first team backups are untried 18 year olds with ZERO senior games is just fucking cretinous. There isn't a manager in the land that would go with that strategy

It was Houllier failing to make the CL the previous year, then being quite close not to making it the subsequent, that caused him to get sacked. Is that specific enough for you? It was the sense that under Houllier, we'd risk losing revenue that was crucial.

Also his failure in the transfer market the previous season allied to his increasing erratic policy on playing players out of position all combined with 'losing the dressing room'

AMAZING ANALYSIS, you dolt. Wow, did transfer market failures, and tactical errors lead to a manager getting sacked? What a uniquely specific set of circumstances! Sounds like the basis for a rich, interesting comparison. Who knows where you will take us on this intellectual journey.

Strangely enough, we've arrived at another clumsy comparison of Houllier and Rafa. We've never been here before.

So, no it doesn't sound familiar. Chiefly because Rafa mounted a credible title challenge last year, and our highest gear swept aside Real Madrid and Man United, whereas the year before Houllier was sacked, because we had finished fifth, Didier cunting Drogba knocked us out of the UEFA cup, and we barely scraped 4th place.

Well there's confirmation of you're inability to see past your own bullshit, I acknowledged and answered your question, and even sought to expand on his errors, just to throw a bit of objectivity in there to show I'm not a poster who just sees what they want to see.

Obviously I didn't come out and say he's an unquestionable failure, so you didn't recognise much else.

You chose to ignore that acknowledgement (again) so I don't see any point in furthering this 'discussion', because let's face it, it's not got alot of point to it, has it? Especially when one is so blinkered and myopic, it's all a bit fucking pointless.

Quiffed on a comma, a very little quiff, perhaps a quiflette, or in spanish a quifita.

indeed small comma.

but let that not distract from the fact that i speak for those silent members on here who if not for me would have no voice for fear of being bullied by the blind followers of rafa who would have you believe that all he has wasted was 8 million pounds in his tenure here and that contrary to all the evidence he was brought here not to win the league but qualify for europe, for that is after all how a team like ours measures success.

whatever next, the club bought keane and not rafa? (who by the way if had his way would have sold alonso for 12 million or so) oh no we've had that.

goodnight

I don't think most of the people, certainly including myself are not blind followers in Rafa. We do however believe that your opinions are so one sided and really anti-Rafa.
There are no silent members who are scared of being bullied, thats just bizare
