indeed small comma.

but let that not distract from the fact that i speak for those silent members on here who if not for me would have no voice for fear of being bullied by the blind followers of rafa who would have you believe that all he has wasted was 8 million pounds in his tenure here and that contrary to all the evidence he was brought here not to win the league but qualify for europe, for that is after all how a team like ours measures success.

whatever next, the club bought keane and not rafa? (who by the way if had his way would have sold alonso for 12 million or so) oh no we've had that.

goodnight

Don't forget 20M on Keane.

So rage misquotes blatantly to stir shit and then everyone joins in and quiffs the thread, jumping on the misquote he keeps referring to, exactly what he's set out to do.

If anyone cared to read back to what this prick is referring to, then they might see that he clearly is here to be a wum and nothing else.

No, no, no Mark, sure "all you have to do is ignore him" according to the feedback from the 'Rage - why is this cunt still here' thread in GC.

Don't worry about him ruining every thread with his contrived bullshite, just turn a blind eye. Since I got that stellar advice, this forum's been a breeze for me personally.

Ahh yes, rage "no one undersstands me because they're all rcdnw'ers". Oh, did I mention he wants me to 'remind him what I do for a living'?

Poor the Rage.

well if you follow the thread yourself mark and are willing to take some of your own advice you'll see what i said in the context it was expressed in.

anyone who's interested can look at what you said on this thread about the 8 million and your refusal to quantify this.

i didn't take what you said out of context and now both you and that ryan want me banned again. as i said before, grow up.

poor the rage indeed. at least i can count past 8

I didn't refuse to quantify it, I expanded on it in further posts and mentioned Babel, Keane and Dossena, so why lie? I'm not naive enough to think that I'd get away with brushing Rafa's transfer mistakes under the carpet as those four, like I said, they just happen to be four that are most often mentioned: Voronin, Degen, Morientes and Josemi.

I expanded on my point and acknowledged his more costly mistakes, trying to be objective. I also highlighted his successes and maintained that my main point was that his successes outweight his errors (which is true) and that he's had alot more success in this area than you care to give him credit for, as with every other aspect of his management.

So like I said, why bother the fuck? It's been clarified and if anything I've expanded on the point to paint a paler picture of Benitez to make the point more fair and objective, as you were aspiring to. If you can't grow up and acknowledge that, and instead just continue to quote my original comment (of which I'd also clearly bracketed as an 'example') then why are you still here, blatantly shit stirring for your own end?

I'm not going to bother with him anymore Mark and I reckon you should do likewise.

He's been shown up several times over in this thread, but the guy is intent on being a fucking cock for as long as he's tolerated, so might as well leave him to it.

really? more mentioned than 20 million pounds keane, 8 million pounds doseena and wait for it there's never a thread on here about 11 million pounds babel because we like to talk about morientes, josemi, voronin and pellagrino more.

and still my point is why use the figure 8 million?

its clear for all to see what your intention was here.

This thread makes me smile at how the times have changed, Rafa bashers being the minority and having to stand up against the entire forum.

Hmmmm...

Of course there have been misses; Pelegrino, Voronin, Josemi, Morientes, (for example), but those four alone cost a combined £8m in transfer fees, hardly devastating.

Babel was a kid, which is always a gamble (see Anderson and Nani), we'll never know the ins and outs of the Keane mess because so many rumours have surrounded the whole move, the only other relatively high cost fuck up was Dossena. Anything else has been neither here nor there. Bellamy came in and did a reasonable job for us and plugged a gap and was sold on for much the same amount, while Crouch was a success eventually and we made a great return on the lad.

Oh and given you're so terribly concerned about unanswered questions, can I have a reply for this perfectly fair question:

Ok Rage, just to balance this a bit and try and get you to use some perspective, go add up our successes and then value the amount wasted on 'mistakes' and the amount invested in top class talent.

And spare us the "I measure success in league titles" comeback.

Oh and finally:

shown up really? i'm not the one resorting to name calling and attempting to ban people because they have a different opinion. 8 million on duds, oh how i wish that were so

Don't come all the 'badly treated poster', you're the one deciding to ask what I do for a living. I'm actually really surprised you've gotten away with that so lightly. And once again, clear indication of your intent to misquote when I've continued to clarify my stance.

and managing quite well.......8 million ffs 8 million. no hold on, when we talk about rafa's transfer blunders we immediately think of players like josemi and pellagrino or voronin and morientes.

or how about rafa's a success as he was brought in to ensure that our ambition is to qualify for europe.

It's not that at all. We've all criticised Rafa in the past - some more than others - but there has usually been a sense of perspective. The Dossena purchase was catastrophic, Rafa has made lots of bad choices in the transfer market etc etc - it's all been said a million times on here.

Rage offers no perspective, no logic, no debate, no nothing. Just the same crushingly tedious rants again and again.

well as long as we agree that he's bought more than 8 million pounds worth of duds and that we measure success by winning the league.

if you or anyone else want to lower your standards and accept that qualifying for europe is a success or believe that when we talk of duds we immediately think of pellagrino, josemi, morentas and voronin go ahead.

you've not made it clear why you picked those players nor the 8 million amount and your refusal to do so speaks volumes.

you then tried to claim that these are the players that we most talk about when talking of dud transfers.

there is no one one here that would put these 4 players as dud transfers ahead of keane, doseena, babel and even the likes of gonzales and bellamy. these are more recent and more expensive dud signings - more appropriate perhaps i think.

i'll leave it here mark. anyone who has any sense of objectivity will be able to make their own mind up about why you focused on these 4 players and the 8 million figure.

Why just focus on the recent? The doubts regarding Rafa's transfer decisions have stemmed from a few of those initial buys, which in the context of his overall success or failure have proven fairly insignificant. You chose to focus on money 'wasted', well money was retrieved on most of his signings to the point of profit, another point you've conveniently overlooked.

My quote before acknowledged those three main failures, and Bellamy too if you care to consider him a mistake (he plugged a gap reasonably enough for a season and at little cost).

As I've said, no one has said Rafa is infallible, I chose those players because that's where much of the doubt surrounding transfers has stemmed from, particularly in the press. And Voronin is a much mentioned mistake too (would anyone on here wish to challenge that?), I went on to mention Keane, Babel and Dossena in further posts, which I've even gone to the trouble of quoting.

Your failure to not even consider that shows up your determination to discuss on your own terms, and at the cost of reasonable debate, so as said, there's no point carrying on really, is there.

And you still didn't bother answering my (fair) question regarding his successes with a just reply, so ditto the above.

Didn't we make a profit on Bellamy & Gonzales?

I thought we only lost 5m on Keane.

And as for Dosenna & Babel. Wenger, Mourniho, Ferguson et all have made at the very, very least similar boo-boos.

That tends to happen in transfers... they don't all work out.
