Boss Chris Hughton sacked by Newcastle

Newcastle United have parted company with manager Chris Hughton following a recent dip in the team's fortunes.
The Magpies were beaten 3-1 at West Brom on Saturday, a week after holding Chelsea to a 1-1 draw, although that result followed a 5-1 defeat at Bolton.
Hughton guided Newcastle back into the Premier League this season after their relegation in the 2009-10 campaign.
Newcastle are currently 11th in the top flight, with five wins from 16 games - only two of those coming at home.
Rumours that the ex-Spurs defender was set to leave the club began circulating several weeks ago.

This was coming, wasn't it? The refusal to hand him a contract despite where he'd guided them to in the league thus far.

Perhaps a new man has been lined up behind the scene. Poor Hughton. Wonder if he'd get another crack as manager or have to revert back to being a no. 2 or first team coach in the future.

Cue silly Newcastle Fans demanding either Keegan or Shearer should be installed as their next manager..

Seems like a foolish decision, I think he did a great job after their relegation and has shown them to be a resilient and strong side this season so far.

I wonder who they have got lined up in his place

Silly decision.

Bunch of idiots[/quote]

I'll go with this.

He's taken a championship team to mid table in the PL. this is such a bad decision, CH deserves better.

They must have a surprisingly big name signed up. Has to be the only way..

I can't even laugh at this.

It's so fucking stupid. What a joke of a football club.

Just so stupid. How likely is a foreign manager to do better than Houghton? If he does, they'll be off to a bigger club, and Newcastle are back finding a good British manager again. Now I get why when people say "Sack Hodgson" the response is "We're not Newcastle"...

They must have a massive replacement in line.

Either or there's been a bust up between him and the fat ashley some while back with ashley looking for a prime opportunity to sack him off.

Or both

it seems like a perverse decision, but playing devil's advocate for a minute - newcastle don't owe hughton a living. if they feel they can get a better, more experienced, manager in then i suppose ultimately that's all that matters: that has to be the first priority.

i suppose it's a bit like the reverse of the situation we found ourselves in with benitez: a manager who 'deserved' to be sacked, but with no realistic prospect of attracting a replacement of the same pedigree.

whether they'll be able to get a better manager remains to be seen, of course.

It seems a weird thing to do because he guided them back into the Premiership with ease and has done reasonably well this season.

I hope they get relegated.

I quite like the magpies.

Always good for scoring/conceding a few.

Its caroll that I hate he's like a massive dog bounding about..with a pony tail.

(I'd love us to sign him)

Hughton should be rewarded with a new lucrative long term contract but instead they fire him! I not only want Newcastle to be relegated I want them rock bottom, the cunts.

I wonder if they speak about the "Newcastle way!" on their forums. If they did, this decision would fit right in with them...

Depends on your definition of 'reasonably well', I suppose. Their season's been as inconsistent as ours, and most of our supporters seem to want our manager sacked. Obviously we're coming from different situations, but Newcastle have always been delusional about their status in the game.

This is the most noteworthy thing Aston Villa have ever done:

The nicest thing I can say about the Newcastle board is that they're fucking clueless scum and I hope they all die before Christmas.

How on Earth can Hughton get sacked before Budgie? Last time I checked he took a Championship side, got them promoted and they're ahead of us in the table.

Budgie took a side that came seventh and is making us look like Fulham.
