I have requested the Admin delete the other thread to save us all from the humiliation. I hope they listen - I think we are all depressed now; I certainly am - I really thought today we could have gained a few extra points but we seriously cocked up when really we needed to take charge of the situation. We have been let down by certain team members. I was looking forward to this game since we did Southampton and this happens.

I didn't see him cause a defender a single problem. He had so much possession and did absolutely fuck all with it.
The appalling and unjustified arrogance before the game was palpable, but my concern was heightened when I saw the team sheet. It made me very nervous. We lost and deserved to lose, too. The entire team looked lacklustre and Lacking in pace and creativity, and we simply played too slowly and without any real threat.
Mignolet (6) didn't do much wrong but again looked less than secure when the ball is in and around his area.
Clyne (7) our best player so far this season and had another good game
Skrtel (5) another OG add to his collection. Cisse gave him a busy afternoon
Lovren (7) some valuable interceptions and clearances and was, for once, the better player in the partnership
Moreno (5) scored a valid goal ruled out wrongly, and was very industrious. Made several poor decisions in defence though, and that cost us.
Lucas (3) passing was slow, inaccurate and lacked any attacking impetus. Was made to look about 100 years old by Wijnaldum. Appalling. We need to buy a decent DM. He repeated for the millionth time since Mascherano left.
Allen (4) in his last season as a Liverpool player, thank fuck. A dismal, peripheral ghost, floating unhappily around the pitch, not even capable of scaring anyone or even saying 'boo'. Fuck off Joe.
Milner (5) played like his infamous Twitter account
Ibe (5) our most dangerous player, hilariously. Sadly every single decision he made was wrong and/ or stupid, to the point that if he'd been asked if he wanted a blowjob from Myleen Klass, or a grenade wrapped in barbed wire shove up his arse, he would have said 'ooh, grenade please. Deffo. Is it live? Boss'
Firmino (3) that's 29m well spent. No pace, no goal,threat, created nothing, and simply wandered about looking halfwitted.
Benteke (4) we'd have been better served giving Purple Aki a game. At least he's quite scary and people avoid him.

Wrong team or not, that doesnt excuse some of the performances today.

The team didn't perform, he's part of the team. He said that.
He often had the beating of the first defender. If that's not causing a defender a problem then I don't know what is.
Not getting on the ball enough is the worst fault for an attacker. Benteke and Firmino were guilty of that and they were passengers. Ibe wasn't.
He's not part of the team. He's the manager. He picks it. I'm pretty sure everyone knows this
He did the minimum, tried and failed. Can't be said for the others.
So what was the result of him beating the first defender? Can you recall a single decent ball he played in from having done so? Can you recall one chance he created?

You know that was just pure belief in the hope we would end up with an 8-0 win or something. However, the performance from today gave us no chance:-
1) Passing Slow - despite lots of spaces out wide
2) Two front men Benteke, Firmino - useless
3) Ibe - final pass + final decision was poor.
4) Pressing not as intense
Have no issues with his selection given that we played mid-week but kind of knew it was going to be shit and static up front when you consider Firmino is quite useless without his bro from Brazil, and Benteke makes a good statue.
He's a kid though. He'll have games like this.
In hindsight Lallana should have started.
And we missed Can. Loads.
Firmino wasn't useless. Newcastle took him out of the game and closed down the middle. I expect every team to do the same against us when one of Countinho, Firmino isn't playing. That leave us with no creativity in the middle. Lucas is a fantastic defensive player but offers nothing in the attacking half. Allen is to weak and slow.
We need a Xabi type of player instead of Allen. No one know when Henderson can play a game because of his injury. One day it can be fine and the next day he can't play. He is a good option but no one the manager can build his midfield around.
