Newcastle Post Match

Ibe was bad. As was Firmino. But I'm not having the Benteke decision. Smacked of cockiness.

"Look, we can beat them with a £30m statue up front, look at our depth".....oh.

Ibe was the worst. He had all of the ball, bit did nothing with it. He was the man who should have.
He did nothing but try to beat men all game.

Everyone was shit but he was the man who had the opportunities and wasted them.
Fuck his decisions. Fuck them in the ass.

No way unless you prefer players to not try. With what Benteke was doing, it was the same as starting with 10 men.

Benteke had none of the ball, Firmino had none of the ball. Good players when they have the ball do something with it. This kid is ALREADY believing the hype.
Lets face it they were all shit but he pissed me off the most because the 5 or 6 times we got into dangerous positions first half it was ALWAYS him with the ball at his feet and it ALWAYS came to nothing.
Good players make them count, Coutinho or Lallana would have carved out at least one or two chances for their team mates today, Ibe did NOTHING but try to beat another and another and another. It was a fucking Yossi performance.

Ibe taking a lot of criticism, justified for his lack of end product, but at least he showed some hunger for the ball and was aggressive in his play and TRIED to make something happen.
He had zero support from the static Benteke and the invisible Firmino (becoming a trend in too many games).
Our midfield was horrendous today, At one point Lucas had a look on his face that said I can't believe how shit I am today. Milner played like a slow yard dog, he takes too long to play even the obvious pass. Allen ran around like a school kid given the chance to play with the big boys, with little impact.
Another learning curve for Klopp.

I was amazed at how immobile Benteke was. The first 60 mins was him standing completely central at the edge of their box while Ibe ran full pelt across the defense.

This result is exactly why I haven't taken to mocking anyone I know that supports Chelsea, they are still only 8 points behind us and with the xmas fixtures upon us I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones mocking us.

Defeats on klopp, awful decision to leave out studge/orgi after they scored 5.

Bentake missing a half chance didn't help

Ah, wish it was still 16 o'clock and we were title challengers.
But now after 1 bad loss we're so shite that the mood has shifted completely.

It was always going to be up and down while we're in transition.
Hopefully both Klopp and the players learn from this.

Down to the manager that one but with Henderson not ready and Can injured he didn't have any other option but to play Allan and Mooncat in midfield. The sooner we get a proper DM the better so we can jettison them into the stratosphere.

Benteke is a waste of space and Ibe is just an average player at the moment.

I'm not worrying about it too much though, I think we'll see a big difference once Klopp has brought his own players in.

Who's mooncat?

The City and United results have meant that we havnt suffered all that much. We are only 7 points of Arsenal but its a bit of a missed opportunity.
Coutinho, Can, Sakho, Henderson, Sturridge all to come into this team in the next few weeks so lets not paint it black right now. I cant imagine we will play that badly again.
If we can string 4 or 5 wins together we will be there or there abouts. Everyone is shit.

First to get good wins the league.

Agreed

They played against a team of lazy bastards who knew they'd better suddenly double their effort and treat it like a cup final. The problem was, it was predictable that it would happen. You'd have to be about 8 to expect a casual goals fest. Firmino is an infuriating player - so much talent but he plays sometimes like he can't believe he's in a cold climate. We snatched at chances from about 10 minutes into the game - why? Allen was the sole bright spot - a nipper of a player who never gave up.

Their first goal (the winner really) was on Allen for me. Did anyone see him Trotting across to their crosser without any attempt to cut it out?

I'm not a fan of Allen anyway, but he was utterly pointless and weak today.

I hope that we sell Benteke in January. He had probably looked at the UN climate change conference and thought that he would help the world by working less and save some water. He don't need to take a shower and he can use the same shirt and shorts next time he play.

Score a few goals but don't give a shit about working for the team.

Our B-team is nowhere near good enough and our A-team is still getting back to fitness, or still injured, so not too unexpected we lost this.

Klopp is learning his team so he's allowed to make mistakes. He'll figure it out.

Good players get on the ball. Good players don't allow the game to pass them by. The minimum for good players is that they try to affect the game.

Ibe wasn't great but he tried to make things happen. He didn't succeed today but at least he tried. Benteke and Firmino didn't and were passengers.

It'll be foolish if we do considering Ings is out, Origi is too young and Sturridge isn't back to full fitness and is still an injury risk. Spend the money elsewhere.

I don't think Klopp was trying to do a Benitez. He did the changes with the right thing in mind and appreciate his honesty in saying that Newcastle deserved the 3 points. What needs to be looked at now is if Big Ben is actually right for us, and the problem with Firmino - they were both terrible. Ibe tried and created problems for the opposition - it was always that final ball of his that was wasted on a consistent basis - so much so that I started swearing at the TV.

I think we all knew they would treat it like a cup game - but had we broken through their ranks just once - they would definitely have fallen apart - we just needed to score that first goal. There was so much space in that first half but our passing was so damn slow it was unreal. The pressing as usual is non-existent up front when Benteke plays because he is a slightly better version of Balotelli. After this game I don't know what Firmino's point is.
