Klopp: "Sturridge did well in the last game. We thought 55/60mins would be good for him. Of course he felt each muscle after the game"

Klopp: "Sturridge felt his muscles after the game which is completely normal...he is available for the weekend." #lfc

CB options....hmm...
We should be OK for the Newcastle game. Can could cover for them if necessary when he's back.
Other than that we're pretty much screwed.
Sakho is expected to return around Christmas/New Year.

Or Wisdom. I'm pretty disappointed that we are sending players to clubs where they arent getting game time. Why wouldn't we try to send him somewhere at a level where he will be a starter?!

I think the club was expecting them to play. I think Aston Villa approached us regarding a loan and it just didn't pan out for Ilori. I mean it's a not even a standard loan, it's a loan to buy so we pretty much sold Ilori to Villa.
Hence why I think it would be difficult to recall him.

I reckon Rodgers thinks he's too good for the Newcastle job.

That is probably true - besides as I heard - Rodgers has been shortlisted for the Chelsea job if Jose continues to f*ck up.

Anyway - getting back to Newcastle and putting aside any doubts that they may do something against us I think we may put 10 to 12 goals past them. Let's just say it is 12 - the split of goals could be:-

3 for Sturridge
3 for Firminho
4 for our Belgium Contingency (Big Ben, and Origi)
1 Henderson
1 Moreno

Do you think I am being overly optimistic - I mean it would be great wouldn't it ? - we would close down the goal difference between us and Man City so when we are top at the end of this month we don't have to worry about that goal difference bullshit and try and beat Crystal Palace 8-0 when we are away to them again. I know this is pure fucking fantasy - but I can fucking dream if want to.

12 goals everyone - that's what we should all aim for.

So you want to avoid the goal difference problem of beating Crystal Palace 8-0 by having a goal difference problem and scoring 12 goals against Newcastle?

I'll be surprised if Origi makes the bench.
I was very impressed with Origi after that performance against Southampton, but you have to consider the fact he was given a lot space in second half when they were chasing the game. It played to his strengths.
I'm not sure he's the right player to have on the pitch when we're the ones chasing the game.

So we played 2 teams in that game? No wonder everyone is impressed.

Yes Mullet - I do - I want to dream; just think we could have been 5-1 up against Man City if Roberto had put away his chances. Imagine if we do create those types of chances and put them away one after. Imagine Mullet - just imagine.

Or, and this might be radical, we go for a 3 or 4 nil win against the next few teams (which is still pretty impressive) and catch up the goal difference without going balls out for a stupid goal difference in one game and end up drawing like against Crystal Palace in the 13-14 season. Especially, since there are a fair few games left in this season.

Just a thought...

I agree, I'm expecting Benteke and Sturridge in front of Firmino.

I think you might be making the minor mistake of taking him seriously

Fully agree.the team needs to start scoring loads of goals. Top4 will likely come down to GD

Wisdom is getting games at Norwich, albeit at RB.

Has loans ever really worked out for us?
We know that Klopp isn't a fan, does he have a point?
We're letting go of our players to get experience but at the same time we're more often than not letting them adjust to a system that is different than ours.

Look at the best players we produced they were never loaned out.
McManaman, Fowler, Owen, Gerrard, Sterling etc.
Flanagan reaped the benefits of not getting loaned out.
Sure Ibe went out on loan but did it really help him? I think he's developed a whole lot more now that he's in the squad.

I suppose the argument for them is that some players wouldn't be able to get into the squad without going on loan first.

I'm unsure whether Ibe would have been in contention for instance.

I'm torn on this, cos I really believe that the only way for younger players to learn is by playing regular competitive footy.

That ties in a little with your point about macca, fowler & Owen, all three played in a very successful youth side & at a time when the reserves were actually still stocked with first team players out of favour & coming back from injuries, so had the benefit of that experience without being thrown in the deep end straight away.

I think a more restrictive loan system, or better negotiated & targeted loans would be good. Teams picked for players cos they need a player in that position, agree to play him in X amount of games & not out of position more than Y times etc, & just as importantly, teams that player in a similar style to ours. I'm sure for a slightly lower wage responsibility to the club loaning him from us it could be arranged.

Gonna stick my neck out and be positive. Anything less than a resounding win and I'd be shocked.
