Hang on, Dreamy. I'm one of the 6 retards, I assume, but I wasn't exactly effusive. I like certain aspects of his game, is all.

His pace and attacking ability, plus his aggression. They're all pretty good.

Admittedly his positioning, decision-making, tackling and overall defensive qualities need a bit of work....
 
So now we know why we gave up trying to sign Hector. We probably talked to his agent a couple or a few months ago and was told that he is going to Barcelona. No chance if Barcelona want him. This deal was probably agreed months ago and that is the reason to why it hasn't been much speculation about him in the media.

I'm shocked someone who loves blasting any player that is below top quality is defending him here (Pun intended)

His pace and aggression are good, in spots. His aggressive in defensive spots around our box is often criminal.

The problem is the areas where is lacking severely haven't improved one bit since he's been here and I can't see how it will in the future.

He's thick as fuck in games and constantly does things that has me screaming at the screen.

He ball watches, his positioning is rubbish, his decision making overall is terrible. He's just not good enough.

And he'd be awful as a winger too. The only reason he's ever looked good coming forward is because full backs are afforded the most room on the ball of anyone on the pitch.

Put him on the wing with someone actually assigned to mark him and he'd be found wanting badly. He doesn't beat a man with trickery, he basically kicks and runs.

He's not good enough to be a winger and not smart enough to be a full back.

He needs binning off pronto.

I've maybe got a bit of a blind spot when it comes to quick, attacking, exciting players, I suppose.

I was one of the few remaining Riise fans. I always liked Ziege. That's not to say I subscribe to the "fullbacks must attack" mantra, or indeed expect defenders to be able to execute Cruyff turns and outrun Bale.

I haven't got a "type". My favourite defenders over the last 30 years have included Carragher, Hyypia, Hansen, Nicol, Finnan, Riise, Lawro etc. Moreno is clearly not anywhere near that lot, and never will be, but there's still something I like about him.

Can't believe Markus Babbel isn't in that list....one of my favourite liverpool fullbacks ever.

I like quick, attacking, exciting players as much as anyone, but a full back needs to be at least competent in that department and he isn't anywhere near that.

If he was average defensively he'd get a pass but he's not, he's a massive liability.

I loved Riise and thought Ziege was quality but it doesn't mean as you say the have to. Finnan was pretty conservative but sublime, Clyne doesn't tear past people but is exceptional.

It's that goal against Spurs, it's give him a lot of time I think.
