Huyton the journo has said on Twitter that the press conference is just Europa preview and official unveiling of our new signings (Cole, Wilson).
Match press conferences aren't conducted at Anfield nor are unveiling of players.
Yeah, I saw that aswell. Maybe there actually is something to this rumour.

I doubt anything will be announced investment wise. But they don't normally have the conferences at Anfield.

From RAWK;

I work at the DW Stadium as a matchday steward and have watched him for 2 seasons now, every single home game and i've been mightily impressed. Figueroa is pretty much everything you'd want in a full back.

I'd say he's stronger defensively than attacking, which is what a full back should be, but thats no detraction on the attacking part of his game. I remember him being in a straight race for the ball with Drogba against Chelsea last year when Wigan won 3-1, the ball was about 25 yards ahead of them both and he kept pace with Drogba all the way and then completely outmuscled him, that tells you all you need to know.

He's much more than that audacious lob against Stoke. Good in the air and equally adept at centre half, i think we'd be getting a real bargain. I've said all summer he would be my first choice LB, even ahead of Cissokho, who i believe he is better than to be honest.

Rather a good read. I'm really glad that the player not only happens to appreciate our history and fans but also took the initiative to call the club himself to arrange a transfer from Wigan to Liverpool.

The lying snake and that doddering old fool couldn't have had anything to do with this. Not a chance.

Bridge is a horrific player.

He's one of those who has had their reputation enhanced because we never got the opportunity to see how shit they were on a regular basis. cf Woodgate, Cudicini.

Woodgate was a superb CB

Cudicini was ace... But a footballing gobshite. The newest version is Stuart Taylor. Happy to warm the bench for an entire career - sat currently behind Given and Hart but taking his huge wage off your... yes you... your Sky subscription.

8 years at Arse, 4 years a Villa, a year at Citeh... 30 career performances in total... Fuck you Stuart Taylor you money grubbing Murdoch cock sucking twat. Fuck you, you anti football piece of shit. Turn up for training... for what?

Someone sounds a tad jealous no ? You wish !

Stuart Taylor is a millionare because he warmed those benches. Easy money how can you blame him?

Hes not good enough to play week in week out for top sides...He could be a poor man who had a great career at Hereford? Try explaining that to his wife and kids when they need shoes 10 years down the line.

The PC tomorrow is just to announce Cole, Milan & Wilson BTW, it's on at 2.30.

Do we know why it's at Anfield and not Melwood?

Hmmm a look at Wigan fan forums suggest he was poor last season and they can't believe that we want to sign him.

The best English CB since Adams imo. Just a shame he was fucked so often.
Agreed. If he and King hadn't been permacrocks, Terry would only ever have been a reserve for England.

I thought that it might be the other way around, that we aren't letting go of Insua before a replacement is signed.

That would be the logical thing to do, as otherwise we could end up without a recognized left back in the first team when the season kicks off.

I'd sooner sign somebody provided they're up to standard, but we have players (Agger, Kelly, even Carra) who can do a better job than Insua there until January if that's the way it has to be.

Do you require an official fucking statement?
Well, there was talk of us having a transfer budget wasn't there, by Broughton I think. I'm just wondering if anyone has revealed that we're strictly sell to buy, or if we have the promise of any cash to spend. Is all.

Was this like Pursssslow's "£20m transfer budget" of last year, that actually had to include stuff like wages, fees, travel costs etc etc?

It's meaningless.

What we actually have to spend is NOTHING. That's our budget. And whatever we get for Masher, Insua, Casper et al, we might get *some* of it to spend, after we've paid off Benitez and Pellicuntface et al. And some of the interest.

But essentially, assume this: we have no money.

We'll end up with a negative spend this summer, I think that's pretty obvious.
