During the time we put in our bid, there was a leak that Lallana had threatened to go on strike and never play for Southampton to get the move. Lallana has denied it since then. But that damaged his reputation among their fans.
No, they definitely hate Lovren, but it is contempt more than anything for a fly-by-night player who used them as a stepping stone. With Lallana, I suppose it was like Torres for us. A player that was absolutely adored, and then forced a move against the club's wishes.
