It's tough to think of anyone who deserves more praise than Henderson for turning their shit around from last season, but fuck me, Martin Skrtel has just been imperious this season. Just consistently excellent, more blocks than a technical Lego set, goal threat, playing with aggression, passion and energy.
So glad he stayed and worked hard with Brendan and the team. Proper respect to the guy.
That is all.

He's been very solid this year - I still think we need better but this level is good enough to compete in for the league and Europe imo.

I would be comfortable with a Sakho Skrtel first team CB partnership in the Champions League next season.

No. In the first half of the season he was making numerous errors, diving in and fouling and climbing all over people (to say nothing of the shirt-pulling that was so obvious I'm amazed he didn't concede a penalty and get himself sent off).

I think in this instance great credit is due to Rodgers and his coaching staff because they seemed to have turned him around completely (as in fact I think BR himself made some reference to recently, how they were working hard to improve his play) and he has, over the past 10-15 matches, given superb performance after superb performance eradicating all of those habits - at least most of the time.

I'm having to eat humble pie re. our Skirts.

His form shouldn't really suprise us that much, yeah he didn't have the best of seasons last year but the year before he was our player of the season, and many times before that hes shown his quality for long periods.

Hes not getting the praise he really deserves this season from the media and others because we have leaked soft goals, the vast majority through no fault of his own, not that that really matters tbh.

Good on him and long may his form last.

Skrtel, Suarez and Henderson have been the 3 players that have been consistently excellent all season.

Hands down our best defender and the first name in the back 4 I hope to see every week. And I love that a lot of people don't rate him as it makes it easier to keep him.

I'd have him as in our top 3 if not 2 players of the year.
Flawless today

I think you'd have to say in not much of a particular order beyond the first two:

Suarez
Sturridge
Gerrard
Skrtel
Henderson
Sterling

Top two most valuable players for me this season: Suarez, Henderson
- These are the guys whom I think we'll see a visible drop in our results if they were out for an extended period of time (yes I know Suarez was out earlier in the season).

Next four: Sturridge, Sterling, Gerrard, Skrtel
- Guys who have made major contributions but who have had some spells of mehness and/or injury, or they started late.

He was boss. Joins Henderson, Sterling and Flanagan on the boss improvement team.
Well, it's not the first season he's been boss, is it? He was great in the Kenny season. And he was also an integral part of the 2009 title challenge.

It's his story - one great season, followed by a patchy one. If he could keep at that great level, he'd be the best CB in the league alongside Kompany. He certainly has all the attributes. He's still only 29 - if he can maintain this level for another 2-3 seasons, then maybe we can mention him in the Hyypia/Carra bracket.
