Lucas is fine when paired with a good Gerrard. When you get *that* Gerrard though, you end up with an uber stagnant midfield that can't do anything.

the thing that worries me is that rodgers doesn't seem to think there is an issue with the midfield , he is always praising the 3 of them and is even happier now we are playing 3-5-2 as it allows the midfield diamond to invert with one deep and two ahead . Doesn't matter which way the 3 lineup if they are all shite.

Lucas is good at anticipating play but that's it.

Our midfield 3 today was tragic and at least 2 of them need replacing in January.

The problem we have is that only Gerrard has the quality to deliver at critical moments and especially in the final third. However, he is always too deep.

Lucas offers nowt and Henderson perpetually fluffs his lines.
