Loan watch

Luis Alberto off the bench for Malaga against Barca.

Immediate impact - wins a free kick just out side the box on the left - goes direct for goal with the free kick and keeper just claws it out.

I think more of the blame goes on his CB partner who ducked out of challenging Wolfswinkle. I think it's harsh for Ilori to pick up blame there as he was positioned to intercept the cross but the ball was just marginally higher than his leap.

hence, partially. He should have been a yard back or so, but fine margins matter a lot.

Admittedly harsh

Apparently, we've put a clause in the loan for Ilori that Bordeaux must play him in at least 30 games this season.

Yeah someone mentioned that here previously but I find it hard to believe. Can't really be good for both the player and team dynamics if such a clause is included. Anyway, hope he'll have a good loan spell there and come back ready to contribute next season, especially since Skrtel's contract runs out in 2016, and we might move him on after this season unless he has an excellent season.

Also will be interesting to see what happens with Wisdom after his loan spell. He hasn't had the chance to get a run at centre back while on loan at West Brom, as he's got Dawson, Olsson and Lescott ahead of him in that position right now. Even in the League Cup, they used the veteran McAuley and their own youngster O'Neil at RCB in each of the two games they played. Quickly searching and browsing through one of their fan forums, he seems to be getting quite some heat from their fans, though it's probably harsh since he's not being played where he's better at.

Ilori v St Etienne - he's no. 4 in the clip; played at right centreback.

Sidenote: Referees should not wear grey / white kits. They look like goalkeepers running in the middle of the pitch.

Ilori started again for Bordeaux vs Rennes. Made a few errors in this game. That Rennes No. 7, Paul-Georges Ntep, is blazing fast. Poor final pass / shooting though, but what explosive pace he has.

Origi scored the penalty for Lille to draw 1-1 away to Wolfsburg in Europa League
3 goals in 5 matches.

The one I'm most interested in is Alberto. He seems to be doing really well off the bat but there's always the question of whether that will actually translate over here. He clearly has ability though.

Saw this elsewhere.

Tiago Ilori, The Portuguese defender was taken off after 27 minutes of Bordeaux's 1-0 defeat to Reims, with the French club confirming he had suffered a hamstring injury.

Divock Origi continued his superb beginning to the season by scoring one goal and creating another as Belgium thrashed Andorra 6-0 in Brussels in Euro 2016 qualifying on Friday evening.

The 19-year-old striker agreed a deal to move to Liverpool in the summer, but as part of the transfer agreement with Lille he will remain with the French club for the duration of the 2014-15 campaign. He has been in prolific form too and that was maintained at international level tonight, with Origi taking full advantage of an opportunity to lead the line for Marc Wilmots' budding young side.

The Belgians were already 1-0 up through Kevin De Bruyne when the Reds' man teed up the same player to further extend the home team's lead in the Group B encounter. By half-time it was 3-0 and, just on the hour mark, Origi notched the fourth - taking control of possession around 25 yards from goal, the forward skipped past two challenges and arrowed low into the bottom corner. Having wholly fulfilled his responsibilities, the starlet was withdrawn after 66 minutes, perhaps with his country's next tie in mind, as they face Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday night.

Think Origi will be a great addition next year. Origi and Sturridge. Tasty.

Won't ever be as good as Suarez and Sturridge, but still has the potential to be very good.

Yep. The more I see of him the better he gets. This year could be very good for him ... and prepare him for next season with us.

Highlights of his performance :

10 million Origi is currently keeping 28 million Lakaku out of the Belgium team.

Lille are playing Everton soon aren't they? Might be a good one to watch.

He is very gifted and talented,” said Kompany. “Technically, he’s a monster.“More importantly, he is an outstanding worker in training. I see him working like crazy.” Origi, who revealed he keeps regular contact with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers, has played both up front and on the left wing for Lille this season, and has now established himself as first-choice in Marc Wilmots’ international side.

And Kompany, a two-time Premier League winner, believes there is no limit to Origi’s potential. “If he continues in this way, in a few years he will be among the five or ten best strikers in the world,” added Kompany.

We've recalled Brad Smith from Swindon Town (League One). He started 7 games for them and has an assist and they were unbeaten in that run; he didn't feature in their last 3 games though. Their manager seemed disappointed to have lost him. According to James Pearce's tweet, Moreno was rested against QPR rather than missing due to injury, so we can probably rule that out as being a reason for the recall.

I've championed Smith on the past as a real prospect for us. His progress prior to a couple of all injuries was stellar.

Don't let the fact he was overawed on his debut (as a left winger of all things) put you off.

He'll be a decent premiership player I reckon. He needs a bit of luck (he has the desire) to establish himself here as back up to Moreno.
