Loan watch

I watched that Lille vs Lens match last night. Origi only came on for the final 30 mins and only touched the ball a handful of times (even though Lille won 3-1 they aren't a very good team and struggled to get the ball into the strikers) he's very strong on the ball under pressure and seems to have tidy feet. Very sharp, composed, finish.

So he doesn't get injured before coming to us?

He's already sold; I don't think Lille would be too concerned about that, unless it's Origi who is holding back in training.

Another angle would be that Lille has no incentive to play him for the remaining games as he won't be there anymore - they don't have a chance at Europe next season, so might as well start playing someone who will be there. For example, 21-year-old Boufal, whom they brought in during the winter transfer window, has been starting 6 of the last 7 games. Not too bad return too - 2 games and 3 assists in that spell as an AM / CF (source: transfermarkt).

Seb Coates has been the difference for Sunderland since Advocaat came in, played a huge role in keeping them up.

Better option than Lovren or Toure to me if given a chance

I remember thinking he looked good when he played in the US last summer, at least in possession. Very good passer. But then he went on loan and barely got a game.

I dunno, I'd be willing to give him a go, but surely he needs a bit of pace alongside him, and Sakho's not very quick.

Yeah that's my only concern too; he looks like's he's running with a caravan on his back.

Realistically if this form means we can get £4-5m for him then that's a good bonus from a couple of months back.

Big Sami was never the quickest but what we'd give for him in his prime right now. I think there's a big difference playing for a Sunderland team for whom a clean sheet is the main objective and for a Liverpool team that is much more open, defensively.
