I've just checked Morse's thread. Gerrard is 2nd (albeit some way behind El Pistolero) and Enrique is 3rd. I expect not many would have picked Enrique off the top of their heads (I certainly wouldn't), but if you look at that clip of Suarez' goals this season again you'll notice many were from an Enrique assist.

Suarez is clearly player of the year, but I expected that. He has been a touch beyond my expectations, but only a little (pre-bitegate). But the player who delivered the most above my expectations - Carra. I expected him to be 3rd/4th CB and fade away. I thought Rodgers was bonkers to bring him in and stick with him. But...

He has been brilliant during the run in, playing some of his best football since Istanbul, and our team defensive record has turned around completely from the first half of the season.

Credit to Carra and credit to Rodgers.

Player of the (calendar) year: Coutinho
Player of the year (seasonal - 2012/13): Suarez

It's still Suarez. I'm not liking how easily people forget how much better than everyone he is in red at the moment including the Coutinho.

If anything, it was meant to be more of a commendation on Coutinho's displays than to belittle Suarez's performances. studsup's post has more than sufficient details to show how infiuential Suarez has continued to be this yr, prior to his ban. For a 20 yr old, coming in to a new league, arriving on the back of an injury at a new club, to put in consistently good performances, not to mention the contribution of goal/assists, is quite a feat. At the end of the day, my vote undoubtedly went to Suarez.

Things change quickly in football, last seasons player of the year was Skrtel, this season he cant get a game

strange list. admittedly I am not a downing fan, but why he is on that list and Enrique isn't? Enrique is third on our list of top players this season. Arguably sterling has done more to be on that list than downing.

I ran out of space!
Besides, Suarez has clearly won it even after the bite incident
