If Coutinho gets credited with the assist for Sturridge's second goal, then this is the current league output from the pair:

Sturridge = 10 goals, 3 assists in 13 games (10 starts, 3 subs)
Coutinho = 2 goals, 6 assists in 12 games (11 starts, 1 sub)

What a smashing January transfer window we've had. Hopefully our windows get better and better!

Didn't see all of the match but Sturridge's back heels were sublime to Borini and Coutinho, glorious stuff.

Yeah, other than not squaring the ball for a tap in, you have to say that was a masterclass of great forward play today from Sturridge. And Coutinho's passing continues to make the jaw drop. He's fab.

I think Borini has been encouraging since he came back from injury - enough to suggest he can slot in with Sturridge, Suarez & Coutinho and add depth to the forward group.

Add a returning Sterling & maybe a tasty signing and I'm happy with the options.

Suso might be another addition.

And what's more, if Borini hadn't been denied by the woodwork, it'd have been his 2 in 3 games since coming back from injury.

He's loving it, isn't he? It isn't just that he's doing well - he's having a blast doing it, which bodes well for his ability to keep it up.

As for Coutinho - how the feck did Inter let him go at all, let alone for what we got charged?

I was a bit dubious about Sturridge for some reason, he struck me as a bit self centered or arrogant and I don't like prima donnas. I got a bit more concerned when he was dropped out the side with little injuries etc and I still can't say I'm a fan of his goal celebrations. All that said if we can keep him happy and he matures a bit more then what a talented player we have on our hands pace skill and an eye for goal.

I could easily be being harsh about his selfishness as opposed to his team spirit, he may well be a good team man. It might well be that having been so heavily touted as a future star for so long and being at big clubs before and not making it leaves me suspicious. Either way he has looked the mutts fucking butts at times since he joined and I'm delighted he played a blinder today.

Coutinho is out of this world also.

Two really good young additions to the team... Lets hope they grow and get even better with us.

I think sturridge is the first player I've advocated signing that's actually not turned out to be shit for us

I think that was Halsey's last appearance as ref, he's retiring to be BT's ref expert next season on TV. Not a great final season but a decent bloke and one of the last refs around who didn't act like a malfunctioning robot.

Am I right in thinking he hasn't reffed Man U to a loss in donkey's years?

Fuck me Sturridge and Coutinho are ace!
Christ on a bike.

We've never scored so many away goals in a season before, but who cares we're obviously not progressing.

great win.

only slight disappointment was not seeing suso and how our midfield at times struggled to hold possession as convincgly as I would have liked
