What a half ... So expected ... A few thoughts:

1) Gerrard is so up for this ... That shot from outside the box was Gerrard of old, the header (why hasnt he be in the box his whole career again?) and just fantastic leadership in the middle. Well done Captain.
2) Sturridge ... pure class.
3) Coutinho has had a very good game. Far far better.
4) Our defense has been very solid. Doesn't look too hesitant and Flanno has looked good.
5) Sterling is becoming undroppable.
6) Lukaku's injury was a game changer - it looks ankle ligament/break etc ... full recovery to the lad.
7) Not really happy with Atkinson's handling of the game. McCarthy should have had at least one yellow - be it for the foul on Suarez or the foul Atkinsom gave on STerling when he just bullied past him.
8) Barry is a cunt. He'd be a good free signing next year though.

Tonight notwithstanding, Martinez has been fucking ace for Neverton.

We'll see at the end of the season.
Apart from the obvious loans they made he's bought a few shite ex Wigan players.
McCarthy has been neat and tidy but he doesn't offer a lot and Alcaraz is wank.
I wouldn't be calling him the messiah just yet if I was a bitter.

Everton possession 58%
It's weird, we're playing like an away team, maybe BR realised we can't control the midfield, so we have to be compact, to be fair, it's working expertly, and I think it's caught Everton off guard.

I'm in utter shock and that's to put it mildly. Never in my wildest dreams. Sh!te referee, though. Utter, utter gumpf.

2-1 to Arsenal. Cazorla. Southampton are poo. Shaw left up in attack and no-one covering for him.

We've always been better at counter attacking this year

fantastic I didn't realise Barry slipped in the process of trying to mark Gerrard for the first goal and wiped out Lukaku's ankle

I tend to disagree. I think we've looked a bit dodgy (as normal) but the ball has fallen kindly. For example, that run across the box from Mirallas had 3 Everton players stood unmarked and if the ball had fallen to one of those we'd have been in deep trouble. However, games are decided on such fine margins so I'd take another rub-of-the-green 45 minutes. And yes, the 5"11' Flanagan has looked good a right back.

That said, I hope we don't just sit back and let them come at us in the second half. We are not a great side without the ball and will eventually concede.

On the contrary .... we are the best counter-attacking side in the PL. The more Everton throw at us in the 2nd half the greater our chance of a breakaway adding the 4th.

Suarez / Sturridge / Sterling & Coutinho running at Stones, Alcarez, Jagielka and Barry (Baines is almost always upfield) ? No contest.
