In fairness to Reina, he did pull of a save minutes before which no other keeper in the Prem could have got near.

I'm only saying because this will get forgotten by the press.

Exactly. Yet they'll be absolutely loving Joe Hart as his (fairly) standard saves.

We will need to be even more gutsy when we sell our small intestine, Mascherano, and a lesser player comes in.

There are still some fundamental issues with the side, but we've time to address them.

The main thing is that there was some belief there. Couple that with some deserved luck and a long injury free spell from Torres, and we can put something together.

To be fair, Hart was the difference between losing and drawing for City yesterday. His performance might have been blown up a bit but he did play very well.

Where's a flag waving smiley when I need one?

Positive points Kuyt N'gog and Mascherano played fantastic today

Negative points i don't think we held onto the ball at times well enough, when we was down to ten men it's understandable, but in the 1st half we needed to be abit more cooler in posession

But overall we got what we deserved a point

Talk about having no luck. Great goal by N'gog but it was one thing after another today.

Masch and Gerrard looked great together.

We could do with Abbey Clancy sacking Crouch off and then fixing her up with Masch so he'll stay.

Oh no. We never won. We're doomed. We're gonna get relegated.

I asked for a mini summary and I get this? 🙁

It was a little harsh but easy to see why it was given imo.

Decent start from our lads, although i'm gutted we missed out on all 3 points.

I'm not looking forward to watching the review shows and Sky Sports News @ 10 tonight. All we'll hear about is the Reina error and the red cards. I'm sure they'll gloss over the team's performance.

That's kindof understandable. It isn't as if either side played great football at any point.

1. As Carra said, Pepe Reina is the best goalkeeper in the world. He looked gutted after it happened, and I would expect him to be faultless for the rest of the season.

2. Arsenal were much better than us for most of the first half. We were much better than them for most of the second half. Looked at logically, a draw is probably a fair result. Still hurts like fuck though.

3. We were really unlucky to get Cole sent off, but in a weird way I think it electrified us. The way we started the 2nd half, even before the goal, was much more positive and aggressive than what had gone before.

4. Wash deserves to be cut a bit of slack. He was very very good in the second half today, and that shot was almost Torres-esque. And that is now 4 goals in 3 competitive matches so far this season.

5. The first week's fixtures and results have been very kind to Chelsea and United. All their major rivals drawing, so they're (assuming Newcastle succumb tomorrow) already two points ahead of us all. And with City-Liverpool to come, they could easily be four points ahead of both teams pretty soon.

6. Fuck LB, fuck a new striker: I hope we don't receive a good offer for Mascher and he has to stay. On that form, he's irreplaceable.

I thought Lucas did ok as a replacemant when he came on

*coughs*

I agree with you that they were better in the 1st half, but for all their dominance, the hardly troubled Pepe. We bossed the 2nd half and ought to have seen them off.

I hope that's the last error Pepe makes this season. He's been so good for us, it's impossible to be angry at him.

Amen.

I think we can do very well with the team we put out.

Agger was solid defensively at LB too.

Agger should never play left back again.

Even if he was unhappy, his natural competitive spirit would not allow him to give anything less than 100% on the field.

Why? I don't recollect him making any mistake defensively or letting someone in. He was not effective going forward, but i think he will get there.

I'd much rather see Aurelio there. But yeah, he's an option whenever Fabio is (inevitably) injured.

Agger for me is far better in central.
Agreed.

But i would prefer Agger on the left to having Insua on the left.

If and when Aurelio is fit, he can be a starter there.

True 🙁
Start now sing Van Der Sars praises and you MAY redeem yourself.

It's a shame that all we're gonna hear about is that error, 'cos without Pepe we'd have lost that game 2 (maybe 3) to 1.

That save from TR was just silly.
