I know people loathe Costa and rightly so, but wouldn't you want somebody with that sort of attitude in your team? He intimidates the fuck out of opponents, and that's half the battle. Backs his teammates, throws himself into anything, and stands up to the league's biggest centre backs. And then he backs it up too. Talks the talk, scores the goals, and wins the game. He's a fucking super player to have in your team.
So, for Henderson to stand there, sans flinching, and to take it right to the cunt is fucking proper. Sometimes the most important battles are the psychological ones. Don't be intimidated, put your marker down, and hold your fucking ground. It won't win you a game, but it'll command you respect - from your opponents, from the supporters, and significantly from your teammates. Love that shit.

It's true. I have a grudging respect for Costa because I know we had a player who got under opponents' skins in exactly the same ways. He's a horrible cunt, as was our own beloved Luis.

Costa is brilliant. He worked on the 3 CB's then moved on to the wings backs before starting on the rest of the midfield players. If you have the audacity to tackle him you'll get the Costa stare. He's like a pantomime villain or a heel from WWE. I would love him in our team.

I am delighted for Henderson. Just in general like. He has really grown as a man with us. He allowed himself to be a bit of a passenger when he first arrived but look at him now. He always had the drive and ambition to be the best player he could be. He didn't drink, didn't smoke, first at training, last to leave. Fair play to him. He's gone from Doug Funny to Johnny Bravo.
If Henderson could shoot like Gerrard(used to), then he'd be one of the best in the country.

I like Sakho, but he's relatively young, Can, & Ilori are all young, & that leaves Lovren as our composed mature head at the back, & he isn't that player from what I've seen.

The young defence is working fine with Skrtel there instead though. I think Rurik is only suggesting Lovren plays there if he sorts himself out and proves he's better than Skrtel, so it should be fine. Further, both Sakho and Lovren/Skrtel are fully fledged internationals, so whilst it's young, it's got plenty of experience.

Yeah, agree with what Mystic said and also it obviously depends on whether Ilori himself is ready. If he needs constant babysitting, then it's not going to work even if you play him with Rip Van Winkle to balance out the age 🙂
