Woooo! We look so composed and our ability to beat teams to park the bus is quality now without ever looking truly threatened when we over commit players. Two huge games. Imagine if we win both. Scenes!
We're even arent we?
One behind as they've scored more.
Only if points are level. Which they are not.
I honestly think we watched a different game.Back to the game...
Alisson 7 - Didn't have to make any real vital saves. Looked assured and calmly alleviated any danger.
TAA 8 - I thought he was great. Barely had any defending to do, but looked immense going forward.
VD 7 - Just like Alisson, looked boss without breaking a sweat
Lovren 8 - Well taken goal, bonus point for that.
Robinson 7 - Was unlucky with his crosses today but other than that, we got the standard full throttle game from him.
Henderson 7 - Great ball distributing and a strong 2nd half after Fabinho was introduced. Played some fine passes.
Wijnaldum 7 - Nothing special from him. Controlled the midfield, won a few balls, played it simple.
Shaqiri 7 - Looked a bit rusty at first, some flicks and passes didn't really find its target. Better in the 2nd half. Got a goal in the end though thanks to TAA.
Mane 7 - Should have scored. Made some great forward runs, but his finishing was off.
Firmino 7 - Great in patches. Never really got any clear chances from what I saw, but worked hard and caused the Newcastle defence some problems with his passing.
Salah 7 - Got us a pen, but wasn't at his best today either. Didn't really get any clear cut chances either.
Subs:
Fabinho 7 - Looked lively when he came on, but didn't have too much to do, played it simple and helped control the midfield. Got his first goal from a corner, well ain't that something! Us scoring from corners...
Sturridge - N/A - Didn't do anything special.
Clyne - N/A -Not comfortable on left, that's for sure.
I honestly think we watched a different game.
Mane was utter shite most of the game. His two great runs ended poorly too. He is well off form. 4/10
Robbo's crossing has been shite for a while now. There was probably only one good cross all game (TAA). Crossing is a real issue for us of late (TAA and Shaq were mostly shite too). He also fucked up twice in defence and was a little fortunate they didn't make more of those opportunities. 6/10
Hendo's patented repertoire of 'hit it down the middle but direct to the keeper or out of play' was on display too (he played quite well those efforts aside). He is much better when he has an angle into the box or across the pitch. 6.5/10
We totally controlled the match without ever once looking as if anyone was having a great game.
You are probably right but when listening on radio..it sounded like we were creating chance after chance and never finishing properly. But they were praising Robbo and TAA for their balls and passing.I honestly think we watched a different game.

I remember that season...Southampton away..we were terrible..Alan Hansen said it was the worse Liverpool performance he had EVER seen...and yet we still finished 5th I think.7 more pts and we are on the same number we won CL with Rafa in 2005. I remember the days when low 60 pts pretty much goygyou 4th and you CL qualification
Klopp seemed really weary during the post-match interviews. Maybe he had a hangover! Maybe he wants one!
Nah. Not having that. We played as we have for most of the season - always threatening but finding an endless variety of ways to fuck it up. We should have crucified Newcastle but I'll take just the four 😀😎You are probably right but when listening on radio..it sounded like we were creating chance after chance and never finishing properly.
