Back in training and could be involved in pre season games.
Does he really have a future at the club?

Personally, I think he's done.

I never had a massive amount of hope for him in truth, but he has been so ravaged by injuries it is hard to see him coming back at a top tier club. That being said, if we don't buy a striker it might be an idea to have options.

His value is probably as low as it's ever been at the moment. Surely we'd be better holding on to him in the hope we can get something out of him?

If we let him rehabilitate until Christmas then one of the relegation threatened prem teams or a promotion chasing championship team would likely take him on loan, and if he shows anything at all then we'd at least get some money back for him.

In saying that, I can't think of too many people who have recovered from injuries that severe (Ruud van Nistelrooy?).

If his legs can take it (they should, they'll be healed stronger than before), then he is the archetypal klopp player.

He'll have a better goals:minutes ratio than origi

Agreed that I think he will really fit the type of player that Klopp loves. I'd expect to see him feature heavily in pre season and the CL qualifiers so that Klopp can get a good view of him before we start the PL. I rate him and hope he manages to stay injury free and get the opportunities he came here for.

He's an average player with a better than average work rate. He is ok as a backup, competing with Origi but if we don't buy a better striker it will be criminal.

His psychology will also have improved after the last couple of years. He'll be the hungriest and most determined player in the squad, which might come in handy when the other usual suspects are pussying themselves out of a semi-final.

I hope he stays and I think he's perfect for Klopps style of play.

Pre injuries I thought he would do really here.

I'd rather keep him and sell Origi. He's had a couple of serious ones, but it's not impossible that he can't come back, he's still only 24.

Wasn't there a fairly big offer for him when he was doing alright before the last big injury?

Gives me confidence we'll find a use for him or get a decent fee. I'd love to see him get a long break from injury to see how far he can go.

Lets get real chaps.
We are talking about Aubamayangs and Mbappes are we really thinking Ings is amongst that?

He will leave. And carve out a decent career at a West Brom or Leeds.

Two years without top level football, though. Who is willing to take that gamble. I can see us accepting a lengthy loan.

A handful of pre season goals and I could see it happen. £20m we were supposedly offered this time last year.

if his body has been able to be put back together, I think he could be great. Terrific energy. Totally down Klopp's alley

I like him. For me he could be our Craig Johnston, our Brian Hall. He's got talent, decent technique, an exceptional desire to learn and an almost peerless passion to prove himself. If he regains the fitness he had when he arrived, he could be one of Klopp's most trusted squad players, as near to a Dirk Kuyt as we've got these days. But who knows about his recovery. He'll be monitored very closely, they won't take a chance, and I doubt he'll really figure before October. But give the guy a chance. He absolutely wants this more than any other player in the squad. And aren't we always calling for such commitment? Give him some faith.

He's got two years left on his contract and I would imagine the club are, at the very least, keen to have him considered as a saleable asset. Let's not rush to judgement

If Klopp manages his recovery like he did last year, then Ings will probably spend the first half of the season playing with the U23s, getting some minutes as a sub in the league cup games, and then perhaps some minutes as a sub during the hectic December spell. Then maybe, start a FA Cup game in January. The track record of players coming back from serious injuries in back-to-back years is not great (albeit it's a limited list), so I'm not optimistic about what his future with us holds. Might even suggest that Solanke is his replacement.

Wasn't Redknapp gone for two years around the time we won a treble? Was never the same.

Wild Ings.... you make my heart sing....
You make every Ings... beautiful.

I should probably stop drinking now...

If you can guess what song this is without checking google, major props to you.

Hints:

1. It's an intro.
2. It's not Norwich

He only needs a couple goals (10) and he will be worth 50 million next year. English premium. Edit: he has 25% sell on clause

Actually I'm a big fan of Ings. I bought the season DVD a couple of years ago and paid close attention to Ings and he was VERY lively in the six or so games he played. Scored a few goals in pre-season and carried on for the first few games playing great and nabbing a few goals several games before getting knacked. A real shame. I think if he can get his fitness up to speed and a get a nice run of games he might surprise a few people. He is only 24 so still pretty young.

Not that this has anything to do with anything really but I heard that he's a properly sound lad. A friend of mine did some work for Ings and his disability charity and couldn't speak highly enough of him. An all round good guy and I for one will be rooting for the guy to come good.
