For those that rate him and think he will be a good player for us. Where do you think he should play and in what formation. Is he going to get games as an attacking mid ahead of Coutinho Firmino and Lallana? Probably not.

There are clearly some concerns about his work ethic and stamina. I think to make it with us he would have to up his game by about 25% and I don't think hes capable of that. It wasnt the physicality of the league that intimidated him when he started with us, it was how much higher the standard was.

I don't think he'll get games, that's the main reason I'm open to a loan. The worst thing for him and us is just letting him rot for a season.

Your criticisms almost seem to be generated at random. Poor work ethic? Do you have evidence? I'd have thought his eager attempts to adapt to an unfamiliar and unglamorous position suggest otherwise. Lack of stamina? Possibly but again not the first thing I'd notice. He looks a naturally fit person to me, so any current deficit is bound to be rectified as he matures. However, I'm not convinced that it is actually a problem. I don't particularly remember him tiring in lots of games - what examples are there?

Why don't you think he's capable of upping his game? Laziness? If so, why?

Why do you think the standard rather than the physicality or pace of the league so troubled him? Particularly given your criticisms suggesting a belief in his poor physical condition? For me his worst performance was probably in the Derby at Anfield, and that's not a game renowned for its relentless footballing quality! Moreover, in his very first appearance for us, as a sub against Man City at the Etihad (probably the best football team in the league) he looked immediately comfortable.

I think he's a good player with excellent vision for a pass, decent speed and a willingness to track back and help out. He's got plenty of competition now in the midfield so he'll need to be at his best to get in the starting line-up and it's his competitive spirit that will make or break him. That's exactly the scenario the club needs for all positions isn't it?

Lazar is clearly quality and I'd be gutted if he were to be let go. We need more than 11 players to be successful and Lazar will be an important part of our squad. I still have high hopes for him.

There seemed to be no real plan for Markovic when he arrived and it's hard to see one now either so how is he going to fulfil his potential at Liverpool?

We've got other young players in Ibe and Origi out who will be vying for playing time out wide, Coutinho who is established as our choice attacking midfielder and then there is Lallana and Firminio who we've invested heavily in.

Markovic is not going to develop into a fantastic player by filling in here and there at wing-back or whatever other role we dream up to give him a game. He will need time and a development plan that give him a prolonged run in the team - is he going to get either of those things at Liverpool?

I don't see how.

Quite so.
