Liverpool are in talks to sign German wonderkid Leroy Sane after he told Schalke he wants to leave, according to reports.
The 20-year-old has been strongly linked with the Reds along with Manchester City and Barcelona in the last few weeks.
Schalke had stayed firm on selling the player, insisting he will stay, but reports in Germany say the position has now changed.
Sport Witness quote the print version of Bild in saying that Liverpool are in talks to sign Sane after he made it clear he wants to quit Schalke.
It’s also claimed that despite suggestions his value could be £41.1m – he actually has a release clause set at £27.7m.
A speedy winger with excellent dribbling ability, Sane is destined to be a star of the future for club and country.

So how likely is this? Is he sexy as fuck? Would he be a good addition? Have I just created this thread in a sad attempt to riff off the Cypress Hill song?

Thoughts here.

Radio said this morning that the Chavs are also looking at him.

He may well leave but I doubt he'll come to us, and TBH we have greater priorities elsewhere in the squad anyway.

Probably this, although Klopp did say we were looking for an offensive winger, and he would suit the bill.

Haha, I read that to mean he wants to recall Markovic.

If his options are Chelsea, Barcelona and Man City then I won't hold my breath, but we should be competing for his signature, especially if the release fee clause is accurate. That levels the playing field and makes him within our reach financially.

Is he worth it though? Still seems a lot of money for someone who hasn't really done much to justify that kind of price tag to me.

Couldn't tell you. I meant to make a more general point that we shouldn't decide to not compete against the richer clubs for players once they've declared an interest. Our hat has to be in the ring for any player who is available and can potentially improve us.

I've seen a few YT videos and he does look genuinely exciting and talented from them. @rurikbird is best to ask on whether he's worth the fee.

We have to be a tempting option, even against those three, we'll pay very well and offer great opportunities for playing, and we're also managed by the biggest name in German management, if we bid for him I think we'll get him, I don't think we'll bid though.

Didn't know about the release clause. £27M is a lot for largely unproven player, but he's a special talent and in this market he's already probably worth more than that. After we've secured Matip with the minimum of fuss, I'm very optimistic regarding Klopp's transfers – he chooses his targets carefully, but is decisive when he needs to be. Many clubs wanted Reus in 2012, but only Klopp was prepared to meet the buy-out clause for him right away – and he was richly rewarded. Hope we can sign Sane and he will prove to be just as important for us.

Wasnt it reported that the release clause isnt valid before 2017? Might just be bollocks.
Barca's interest has been put in the catagory " to increase the price for English teams".

I read the title and thought 'not another fucking southampton player' but that'd be a maneframe thing.

Anyways, let's hope he loves the Klopp.

No.

Did Sane actually transfer to Madrid?

On a side note, has Turan played for Barca yet? How is he getting on?

Can I just say I'm disappointed with the pitiful amount of likes I farmed with this thread title? Like farming was ultimately my only incentive, and you guys fucked it all up to fuck.

Edit: other than @Lippy obviously.
