[article]"Of course, any types of incident of that nature are damaging to a brand, but Liverpool Football Club is way, way bigger and always will be way bigger than any one player or one individual," Ayre said at the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club.

"What is important at those times is to ensure that we act respectfully and professionally as a football club.

"In the past we got some of that wrong and I'd say more recently we got that right.

"Luis is a footballer, sort of a street fighter, a larger than life character and we have seen that across not just even the Premier League but across football and other sports.

"Nobody is condoning any bad behaviour, but it is just something you have to deal with.

"He is what he is, is the character he is, and we have to try and harness that."

"We have worked a lot with Luis since the last incident with Ivanovic and he has responded well to that," he said.

"He has been prepared to commit to that sort of work on his character.

"We saw him back last night and he looks like the good bits of Luis, which is terrorising defenders and we're pleased he is back, pleased he is contributing.

"As we said all along through the summer, we expected him to remain a Liverpool player. He has remained a Liverpool player and we all move on together.

"I saw some of his comments this morning that he was there for the team and wants to help us achieve whatever we can achieve this season."[/article]

When your managing director is a fucking clown, that is actually what damages the brand. When he turns up to meetings in a paul smith shirt, that's how you lose contracts and sponsors. The incompetent idiot has obviously fucked up and fell short of his year end targets so is trying to blame that on Suarez.

What is he blaming on Suarez here, precisely?

What the? It's the first line of the article, Binny even bolded that sunnabitch for you.

He blamed Suarez for damaging the club's brand image. Brand image is an asset that I'm sure sits on the balance sheet like any other. The value of that asset must have reduced under Ian Ayre's watch and so he saw fit to put that down to Suarez.

Taken together with Brendan Rodgers' recent reference to Suarez being a £50-60 mill.pound player, Ayre's words leave me thinking we're anticipating more bids for Suarez next summer (if not before) and will be prepared to let him go if said bids fall within that range.

They describe and treat it like a brand to kill you a little bit inside. At the same time, they don't market it like a brand to turn a profit. So you are dying for nothing.

He was asked specifically about the two incidents with Suarez, it would seem, and said that those incidents damage the brand, which whether it's true or not, is not the same as saying "we can see damage to the brand, and I'm attributing it to Suarez."

And commercial revenues are up during Ian Ayre's watch aren't they?

Rodgers:
[article=http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1565564?&cc=4716]"I’ve seen the coverage of it, and it was very, very unfair on Ian, with all due respect, because he wasn’t talking about Luis Suarez -- he was talking more about the coverage as a whole.

"It’s all behind us. We really need to focus on the now, and the future. The most important thing is that he’s available. I don’t think anyone wants to keep regurgitating that stuff all the time.

"It’s something that’s very much in the past. Ian’s comments were very much about the coverage it had generated. So we’re looking forward, and that’s my only interest as a manager."[/article]

hahahahha that so obviously translates to "Are you fucking kidding me Ian? You dumb fucking piece of shit, motherfucker, shut the fuck up, don't ever fucking open that retard mouth of yours again, you stupid piece of shit"
