What would have made you happy then? A double hat trick with no dancing?Yes he did well yesterday, but let us not forget how utter shit Newcastle were.

All through last season and before this season started, I thought he had some decent skill but lacked the confidence and courage to assert himself on the field. It was like playing with the likes of Suarez and/or Gerrard overwhelmed him and he didn't dare to demand the ball or be more adventurous, for fear of being scowled at or chewed up (ahem) by the stars. He's definitely stepped up in accepting his responsibilities this season, mainly as of November.
Good for him, and us. I thought he'd have no future here if he didn't step up and improve drastically over last season. I'm glad to say he's allayed those fears so far this season. I think he's had to play in about 5 different positions this season, and has done well overall despite being shoved around to fill the team's needs. Well done to the lad.
@Binny How does Henderson compare to Lampard at the same age?
When Lampard was 20-22 yrs old:
(98/99) 37app, 12 goals, 10 assists (3259 mins played) - West Ham
(99/00) 34 app, 7 goals, 6 assists (3060 mins played) - West Ham
(00/01) 30 app, 7 goals, 2 assists (2644 mins played) - West Ham
When Henderson was 20-22 yrs old:
(01/02) 37 app, 3 goals, 4 assists (3210 mins played) - Sunderland
(11/12) 37 app, 2 goals, 2 assists (2658 mins played) - Liverpool
(12/13) 27 app, 5 goals, 4 assists (1290 mins played) - Liverpool
Do you know if that been updated to take account of yesterday's game Binny?
@Binny
Did not realise Lampard started off so good but thanks. Henderson seems to be comparable at 22 though by minutes played.
I bet he is miles ahead of Cleverley.
And how many teams this year have dismantled utter shite teams away from home to the tune of 0-6 without their best, most creative and top scoring player?Yes he did well yesterday, but let us not forget how utter shit Newcastle were.
What??? Hendo will continue to improve - he'a young, learns well and has bags of potential.
Definitely. He's getting better and better. Still, there's lots to improve. I want Hendo to impose himself on the game more. I want him to stop playing it safe all the time, take on a defender once in a while or why not even try playing a through ball like Coutinho always does.
.
Coutinho is the most intelligent player we've had since Alonso left.
His vision and passing is different class.
Exactly. And he's just a baby. What'll he be like when he's 26?

And undefined.
