Hellas Verona, based in the beautiful Italian city of Verona, currently reside in Seria B.
Their golden period was from the early 80's through to early 2000's winning the Seria A title in 1985.
After a number of seasons staving off relegation the finally lost their Seria A status in 2003. Further relegation followed and after a number of seasons in Seria C they were promoted back into Seria B two seasons ago.
Last season seen them miss out on promotion. Despite being well placed going into the last half dozen games a poor finish meant they only made the play off places subsequently losing the semi final.
This season has started with a Tim cup win over Genoa. They won 4-1 on penalties after the tie finished 1-1 after extra time.
With high hopes of returning to the top flight their Seria B campaign starts on Friday 24th August, with an evening kick off, (which will hopefully mean a stream)

Main connection between Verona and Liverpool is that one of their former, ahem, stars of their academy was none other that Andrea Dossena

0-1 Verona on the fifteen minute mark.
Bacinovic with a super free kick straight into the top right hand corner of the goal.
Keeper had no chance.
We have been the better side in the opening exchanges.

Half time and Verona maintain their slender lead.
Their adventurous 4-3-3 formation has more often been a more withdrawn and defensive 4-5-1.
Their neat and tidy passing the ball to feet has created a few chances but in truth they have been under pressure from a more physical and direct Modena.
A few feisty challenges coupled with the odd sneaky but well disguised dive means that it is likely that there will be more than the two yellow cards picked up in the first half by the end of the game.

Bugger.
I miss the first fifteen minutes of the second half and Modena equalise.🙁

Bjelanovic off for a bit of retribution on a Modena defender.
Fucker deserved it.
Backs to the wall for the final ten minutes

Full time 1-1
Bacinovic (Verona) 0-1 15 mins
Signori (Modena) 1-1 49 mins.

The stream in the first half was poor and really shit in the second so I have little analysis to offer on the game, Verona, despite being down to ten men looked more likely to grab a winner in the final ten minutes.
Hard to pick out any players yet but Halfredsson looked tidy with an eye for a pass in the centre

Round 2 of Seria B see Verona take on Spezia in their first home game of the season. Spezia beat Vicenza 2-1 in their opening game.
This one kicks off at 19.45 tonight but there doesn't seem to be any streams.
You might have to suffer a processional match report by someone who has English as their first language

FFS
Trailing 0-1 at half time to a forty second minute penalty.
What a pack of donkeys!

Spezia down to ten men after fifty minutes.
Porcari sent off, horrible cunt

Second red card for Spezia and an equalizer for us.
Fifteen minutes left.
Come on, we can do this.

1-1 final score 🙁
Watching the match on teletext wasn't ideal but may have been less frustrating.
Two points dropped, not the form of promotion chasers.
Someone else's match report to follow..................

Apologies as I was up to my eyes last weekend and couldn't get to watch Verona's latest game.

Anyway, a goal in either half meant that Verona recorded their first win of the season, 2-0 against Reggina.

a match report..............
Hellas Verona, 2 goals to beat Reggina

With a goal in each half gialloblù regulate Reggina without too many worries. Laner opened the scoring on a penalty kick and Gomez Taleb doubles putting the result beyond doubt

VERONA - It 'a beautiful Verona what stands out for 2-0 walls between friends against Reggina. Start a high pace gialloblù team that is parked in the middle of the field of amaranth. At 9 'the game is released, nice ball of Martinho for Cacia blowing portire and pulls the ball but was rejected on the line, the ball returns to the extreme defender but loses the pressure Laner that bag. After the advantage rhythms are incurred but dangerous actions he showed few Verona to rest on the result of 1-0. In the second half the stronger and Hellas Cacia earned the penalty that Gomez Taleb turns. From this moment on, the administration Verona, nothing to record up to 45 'if not a shot of the Big Baiocco which makes a nice save. Below is the minute by minute of the match Hellas Verona Reggina.

First time
9 'GOAL Beautiful Martinho action that breaks centrally Cacia jumping ball to the goalkeeper, save on the line, the ball back to the goalkeeper that if let out and realizes Laner
14 ' Jorginho is free to shoot that ends up on the cross
17 ' Rivas dribla on the left and goes to the end, central
22 ' Shot from thirty meters high Rizzo
31 ' A rebound favors Barillà that trigger

1-1 after thirty mintes.
Vicenza took the lead in the ninth minute with a Verona equalizer coming after fifteen

Boom
1-2 two minutes into extra time at the end of the first half
Cacia with his second of the match.

All three gaols have come courtesy of poor defending with Verona's defenders standing too far off Malonga allowing him to run a scuff and shot into the bottom right hand corner of the goal.
Cacia capitalized twice on Vicenza defenders giving the ball away on the edge of their penalty area to finish both times with considerable aplomb

Seventy minutes gone.
2-3 Verona
Vicenza equalized through a penalty from Pinardi only for Verona to retake the lead with a goal, after more sloppy defending, from Maietta

Woohoo!
Match finished 2-3.
Great to win the local derby and we are still unbeaten and up to forth in the table with eight points.
Next up a home match against Novara next Friday evening.

For anyone interested check out Livorno's second goal in their 4-2 win over Empoli.
An absolute cracker

Sorry folks as I haven't updated on time.
Yet another draw, this time 1-1 at home against Novara.
Frustratingly we lead for most of the game before conceding a late equaliser.
It is definitely a case of two points dropped and Verona really need to improve their home form if they are to be in contention for promotion to Seria A at the end of the season.
They currently lie forth with nine points, three behind both Livorno and Varese and six behind Sassuolo who have made the perfect start to the season with five wins from five.

I have been away on holiday so haven't updated this recently so sorry again folks (if there is actually anyone reading this)
It was a great week for Verona.
A 0-3 win against fellow promotion chasers Varese was followed by a 1-0 home wain against Bari, the winner coming in the eighty eight minute of a game that looked to be heading for another stalemate.
So seven matches into the season, Verona remain unbeaten having won four and drawn three.
On fifteen points the sit in third place in Seria B, one point behind Livorno and four behind Sassuolo, who have had a fast start to the season

0-1 after seven minutes.
A super strike from outside of the penalty area by Halfredsson following a semi cleared corner.
The corner came courtesy of a super save by the Padova keeper

1-1 after thirty five minutes.
To be fair the equalizer was coming after Verona rode their luck on a few occasions.
Still look capable of scoring as Padova don't look too hot at the back.
BTW, Verona's coach looks like Mourinho's dad

1-1 still at half time.
Fairly even match with Padova having marginally the better of possession while Verona have created the better chances,
As said earlier, Padova look vulnerable at the back, particular to crosses into the box and I wouldn't be surprised if Verona score from a corner or centred free kick.
Here's hoping.

Fuck
Padova score from a breakaway with the last kick of the game to steal a 2-1 victory.
Having dominated for much of the second half forcing a few decent saves from Padova's keeper, I was about to report that Verona would have been unhappy with just a point.
The last gasp goal conceded will have been a real kick in the teeth as we lost our first game of the season.
Still, lots of time to recover and no doubt there will be more set backs along the way.

A comfortable 2-0 home win over bottom of the table US Grosseto means Verona have consolidated third place in Seria B.

Two goals from Daniela Cacia one in each half brings his total for the season to seven from eight games.Indeed if there is a concern at this stage of the season is that Verona are heavily reliant on Cacia for goals as he has scored nearly half of the fifteen that is their season total so far.
No injuries to Daniele please.

Next match could be a zinger when we travel to take on second placed Livorno on Saturday.
If I were a betting man I would consider a wager on these two teams being placed first and second come the end of the season and I would be happy with either spot.

A great 0-2 win away to Livorno means that Verona have leapfrogged today's opponents into second place in Seria B. With league leaders Sassuolo losing for the first time this season, Verona are now just four points off the top on twenty one points after ten games.

I can't tell you much about today's game as it coincided with the Liverpool/Reading game.
It was level up until the seventy first minute until that man again Daniele Cacia broke the deadlock.
A goal in the final minute off full time by Brazilian midfielder Raphael Martinho meant a comfortable injury time for Verona's travelling fans.

Next up is a visit by Virtus Lanciano, currently struggling near the bottom of the table.
Hopefully another three points will ensue and push us on towards Seria A

With both Sassuolo and Livorno both winning 1-0 last night we really need to win today's home game against Virtus Lanciano to keep up the pressure at the top of the table.

Well we have left it late.
just gone 1-0 up thanks to a penalty from that man again Cacia when their keeper was sent off for a foul in the box.
hopefully we should finish it out now against ten men

And points are in the bag thanks to another penalty in the eighty sixth minute.
Don't know why I was gettting worried😉
