Kenny Dalglish today confirmed Steven Gerrard will not be available to face Wigan on Wednesday night.

The skipper continues to make good progress in his recovery from an ankle infection but will not be ready to take on the Latics.

Dalglish told his pre-match press conference: "We don't have any problems, apart from Jack Robinson, Steven (Gerrard) and Fabio (Aurelio) as well.

"The longer term ones aren't in the squad."

Asked if Gerrard would feature at any point over the festive period, Dalglish added: "It remains to be seen, but we won't be making any comments on it."

It's ok, you'd probably hate me if we just met in real life anyway.

Ha

Can we please change the title of this thread? Every time it is bumped I am a little freaked out.

Yep spot on, Mystic. No one can get close to The Henderson
[/quote]

Well Lucas might be able to if Henderson has an off day (as if he ever would), but I wouldn't want to put money on it.

But what about Jonjo?

Every Steven Gerrard Goal For Liverpool EVER!

Wow. Just wow. I've never seen a player hit so many from so far out, volleys, half-volleys, left and right (although mostly right). His first touches on most of those are perfection. Thanks for sharing.

x2, Thanks Binny.

Nice one Binny, would love to see us bring someone through the youth ranks even half that good. Incredible.

That video does make you realise how shite most of our away kits are though!

He hasn't been a free loader either. 😛

UAE, 21 December, 2011

Liverpool FC Captain and England midfielder, Steven Gerrard surprised staff at Standard Chartered Bank in Abu Dhabi when he visited their workplace last week.

Organised as part of its sponsorship of Liverpool Football Club, Standard Chartered Bank gave its staff the exclusive opportunity to meet and interact with the soccer star in a one hour session.

The once in a lifetime opportunity was greeted with much excitement by the Banks staff on the day of Gerrard's arrival as the identity of the player was not revealed prior to the meeting.

Steven Gerrard said, "It was an interesting experience for me to meet people from Standard Chartered Bank in the UAE. Their passion for the sport is amazing and it pleases me to know that the club has a strong fan base here."

Jonathan Morris, CEO, UAE said, "Our staff were excited to be given the opportunity to meet one of the greatest players in the English Premier League. Steven's interaction with our staff will be remembered for a long time to come. We are very pleased to see our Partnership with Liverpool FC benefiting our staff as well as the communities where we live and work."

The meeting with Gerrard followed a visit to Dubai in November by LFC Legend Ian Rush. The star spent three days leading a team of Liverpool FC community coaches, who held clinics for the children of the Banks customers. The event coincided with a competition organised by Standard Chartered in which two lucky children won the honour of walking the Liverpool FC team out onto the field at Anfield next February.
