OK, don't go on blaming me now 🙂 I just let folks express their opinions at a moment in time – and clear majority (including me) were in the "too early to tell" camp. And it's all in good fun anyway.
I'll admit he did look bad the first few games – but in the last few weeks he turned into a sexy beast and we finally saw the finishing ability (outperforming xG) and clean striking of the ball that he showed so often at PSV. The touch for the first goal was Mitoma-esque 😉, the second goal had shades of Coutinho vs De Gea. His ability to turn under pressure and pick the right pass is invaluable; he is such a fun player to watch when he plays with confidence.

Some really encouraging signs yesterday. The interchanging between him and Darwin, the link up play, the quick turns and finishing, how he moves so efficient with the ball and just that he's a very intelligent player. Firmino leaving might be the best for the development of our young attackers and us in the long run, even though its obviously sad.

Drag it back in time - remember the slagging Hendo used to get - and yet here he is, one of Liverpool’s most successful captains ever - and that’s quite an achievement.
To me he seem a bit more like an forward Gini than a Firmino. He's not as flash as him - well until he gets his teeth done anyways - but he seems very adept at being able to keep the ball under pressure and pick out a good pass. After watching things break down for us repeatedly this season, it's nice to see.

But the criticisms against Nunez and gakpo were different. With Nunez it was decision making and technique, but no one queried his application or work ethic. With gakpo he just seemed to do nothing and was invisible. Criticisms are valid when they're made. Bringing them up later when they're no longer valid is just petty point scoring
