Just seen an interview with Robbie who is apparently joining some Ozzie outfit. He looks lardier than me!

It's winter.

And he's playing at 1 level above Ryan O'Hare.

I'd still put money on him to score a fair few goals.

In the North Queensland heat and humidity, he won't be fat for long.
[/quote]

No, he'll be crackling.

Stick yourself mid-way between those two extremes & you'd be there.

O'hare's the "Dirk Kuyt" of his team (so he says).. Roughly translates as s striker that runs around a lot and score every now and then.

I watched him play in a pre-season friendly aginst Melbourne Victoria once. Kevin Muscat had him in his back pocket. (ha-ha)

I was told a while back that he's a bit like Danny Allsop.

At the time I googled Danny Allsop to see who he was and his wikipedia page said:

"some supporters consider him to be 'about as useful as an appendix'."

He'll be about as useful as Romario was when he came to Australia.. And at times he was a joke.

The standard of the league is similar to mid table teams of division1.. BUT they are all generally quite fit. Nowhere near the level of premiership players but sports science is pretty big in Australia. Romario might well have had the vision but he was far too slow to take the game by the scruff of the neck.. Chances would tend to come his way when players were getting tired..Unfortunately by this point he was struggling to stay on his feet so the ball would end up closer to the corner flag.

Miller who used to play for Rangers has been doing well out here..but i think he unlike Robbie tends to try and get invovled in everything and he roams around the middle of the park. Robbie tends to wait for his opportunity and i dont believe he has the pace to cause any major issues. He will be a complete flop.

The main concern I would have in signing someone like Fowler is that he is a predator.... he is not a creator like Yorke was.

For Fowler to be effective, he needs quality service from midfield and the wingers.

He will have decent players behind him in Agius, Ufuk Talay, Spagnuolo and Santalab ... not the best in the league, but decent enough.

Personally, the signing of James Robinson is an absolute joke - he has scored 3 goals in 30 or so appearances in the league ...  Fowler needs someone decent up front next to him.

He looks like he's struggling to even juggle that bloody ball, never mind run around after it for 90 minutes.

I'm shocked none of our 6CM band of cronies has suggested we sign him back, with the notion that 'he'd still score 10 in the league.'
