He can be 'Uncle Tony' like in 24 hour party people 🙂

Andre Villas-Boas has already admitted the next few weeks will be crucial for Chelsea's season. The same could be said for Fernando Torres.

His former club Liverpool, who he left for £50million in January, return to London for a Carling Cup quarter-final tomorrow night little more than a week after beating them in the Premier League.

Villas-Boas has promised to stick with the youngsters despite being under pressure for his job and it means Torres is facing a fourth game in a row without being in the first XI.

The former Porto coach was meant to be the man who could get the Spain striker back to his best, however, the displays of Didier Drogba and Daniel Sturridge have put Torres in the shade.

He has played just 63 minutes of club football in four weeks and one wonders whether Villas?Boas is beginning to doubt if the forward can fit into his system at all.

It was noticeable how, as the Chelsea dug-out celebrated John Terry's opening goal in the 3-0 win over Wolves on Saturday, a miserable Torres remained motionless on the subs' bench.
He eventually came on but was only given the final 13 minutes in place of Drogba.

Villas-Boas maintains the striker will get a run in the side again and with the club facing nine fixtures in 35 days, he will be required.

Significantly, though, the Portuguese has not reassured Torres that he will be first choice during the Africa Cup of Nations when Drogba could be away for up to six weeks.

Asked whether Torres will be the man to fill the void left by the Ivory Coast striker in January, Villas-Boas said: "We're not worried about individual performances, so for us it's not important. Romelu Lukaku will be available and, hopefully, Nicolas Anelka as well and Fernando and Sturridge.

"For sure, Fernando and the others will have their run in the future like they have before.

It is quite shocking that he appears to be sulking because things aren't going his way.
NOT!

The worst thing is, even though I hate his guts for leaving. A partnership of Torres - Suarez is just so mouthwatering its unreal.

A well, that ship has sailed. For both parties.

*Feels ashamed for even thinking about it*

There's a rumor going around on twitter that last week when Liverpool were in town, after the game, he expressed his regret at the manner of his leaving to a friend in the company of a well known journo, and that he made a mistake and wants to leave England for fresh start in Italy

there are rumours from rawk and twitter right now that he's been offered back to us and we are talking with chelsea. also that our docs have recommended that we don't do it.

I heard his knee was fucked (rumour of course) and we left it to the very last minute to get the transfer through because of it

I doubt that Chelsea would have bought Meireles from us at the last minute if they'd had any doubts about our honesty.

if we got him for 15 mill then at least we could just say andy carroll was free. that would please me. i'd love torres back for no more than 20 mill. i really think he would get his form back for us.

Pace gone or not, knee fucked or not, Torres would score a bucket full for this current Liverpool side. We're creating chances for fun but we need someone to take them.

Indeed. We should do whatever it takes to get Chelsea's goal machine.

So let's sign a lad that's scored 3 league goals in a year ? Great fucking thinking , yeah he's been putting away all the chances he gets at Chelsea hasn't he ? Why don't we sign Michael Owen too ? We'll be unstoppable.

It's this sort of completely blinkered, hopelessly optimistic thinking that sees us waste transfer money hand over fist.

Fernando has a long track record of being not very good when he's not in top condition. He is nowhere near what he was when he signed for us. He looks heavier, slower and weaker. He doesn't work as hard as he used to, he often looks yards off the pace in games. And you think that's all miraculously going to sort itself out when he comes back to a club he was pissed off at for at least a year ?

Suffice to say I'm not in favour and if it does happen I'll be calling for the head of whoever is responsible for the deal.
