The Reds will then travel to Aston Villa on Saturday, August 24 before David Moyes and Manchester United visit Anfield on Saturday, August 31.
The Christmas period is one that stands out for Brendan Rodgers and his squad - with a mouth-watering Boxing Day trip to Manchester City followed two days later by a visit to Stamford Bridge.
The Merseyside derbies take place at Goodison on Saturday, November 23 and Anfield on Tuesday, January 28.
The season will end with a home encounter versus Newcastle United on Sunday, May 11.
Liverpool's Capital One Cup campaign will begin on Wednesday, August 28 between our fixtures with Aston Villa and Manchester United.
All the dates in this story are approximate and subject to change. A definitive fixture list will be compiled next week, which will take into account any changes other clubs make in relation to their European games. The first round of TV games will be selected on Friday.

We play Spurs, Chelsea and City away over a two week period over Christmas, what a cunt of fixtures.

Thats a great start that, you couldnt have asked for a better opening 10 games.
Shit christmas though.

Very happy with that start, we only really play Utd until November.

Chance to build up a bit of momentum for once!

Fixtures are great and gives us a good chance to build some winning momentum. We need to start well with a win and keep going. This has the potential to be a special season with our focus on the league.

Pretty certain our game with the Mancs will be moved til Sunday 1st Sept.

Spurs vs Arsenal that weekend too so a Super Sunday could be on the go.

Lazy me. Should read it all next time...:

Cheers Jimmy.

Moyes and Utd play Chelsea, City and Liverpool in his their opening 5 games. Could be a tough start for him, hopefully!

Fixture calendar

Sky Sports provides a simple guide for subscribing to our in-depth fixture calendar.
Sky Sports fixture calendars are supplied in iCalendar / ICS format, which is supported by most major devices and calendar applications.
Subscribing to a calendar means the events will always be up to date with the latest dates, times and coverage information on your PC, Mac, Tablet or Smartphone.
The instructions below cover adding a calendar subscription to some popular devices / apps.
Using Outlook 2010 for Windows

From the selection of 'Mail', 'Calendar', 'Contacts' and 'Tasks' - Select 'Calendar'
In the ribbon, pull down the 'Open Calendar' menu
Select 'From Internet'
Enter the URL (beginning http://) In the box entitled 'New Internet Calendar Subscription'
Press OK
Optionally - Click 'Advanced' to name your calendar and configure some options.
Click 'Yes' to add the calendar to outlook and subscribe to updates.
The contents of the calendar will now be downloaded into Outlook, and will automatically update periodically as fixture information changes.

Enter the URL (beginning http://) In the box entitled 'Add by URL'
Do not tick "Make this calendar publically accessible" - Sky Sports calendars are already publicly accessible via http://www1.skysports.com/calendars

From the list, choose 'Other'
Under 'Calendars', Select 'Add Subscribed Calendar'
Enter the URL (beginning http://) In the box marked 'Server'
More options should appear, you can optionally enter a description for the calendar. You do not require a username or password, and should ensure 'Use SSL' is set to 'off'.
At the moment, no alarm information is sent with the fixture lists, so the 'Remove Alarms' option will not have an effect.
Select 'Next' - the calendar should sync, and then 'Save' to confirm the subscription.
Leave the 'settings' app, and go to the 'calendar' app. You should now see the subscribed calendar(s) in the list under 'subscribed' - ensure they are selected, and you should see all of the events in your calendar.

Yep.

I'll have wheels too so I suppose I could drive to Birmingham, Southampton or wherever, but I've got a pretty tight schedule cos I'm in town for a wedding and have to get to the sodding Cotswolds for most of that weekend.

The train only takes 2 hours from Euston to Liverpool.

First class, free internets and booze. To be honest I always feel a bit down when it's time to get off.
