Have to admit I have more respect for the cunt each season for the following reasons:
Not sure how Moyes would do with real resources, but hats off to him for the job he has done. I just hope we can keep our noses in front of them and that Moyes never moves down the road to the Scum because I suspect he would be very successful there.
[li]Over the past 5-6 seasons, he has consistently had his team performing in the league well above their class. With the talent (or lack thereof) that they start each season with, they should not have finished in the top half of the table any season in the past 6 years. In fact, this is proven whenever they get into Europe and are immediately erased because they simply do not belong at that level[/li]
[li]He has a good eye for under-valued players - Cahill, Saha, Fellani, Piennar, Baines, Donovan, Lescott, Arteta, Jagielja, Heitinga, even Phil Neville. They are not world-beaters, but consitently do a job.[/li]
[li]Most team that over-perform in the premier league do so by being ultra-physical and bullying their way to success i.e. Bolton (in past seasons), Stoke, Birmingham. Everton can play a physical game, but their football is generally not ugly. They are completely out-footballing Man City today.[/li]
[li]Every season his teams have had a horrible period filled with injuries and poor play, but they always claw their way back into the frame without a whole lot of fuss. I wish we had that ability. When we are playing poorly, we really struggle to right the ship, all the players talk endlessly to the media, and it seems the team is a whole set of different factions - maybe just the nature of a bigger club with bigger players [/li]
