Claudio Ranieri - AS Monaco

The 60-year-old Italian, who has signed a two-year contract starting with immediate effect, was dismissed by Inter earlier this year after they were knocked out of the Champions League by Olympique Marseille at the round of 16 stage.

"Ranieri is regarded as one of the top European coaches and he is bringing us his experience," Monaco said in a statement on their website.

Relegated last season, Monaco had a disastrous start to the campaign but managed to turn the situation around under Italian coach Marco Simone to finish eighth, but the run was not enough to prevent the manager and his staff from losing their jobs.

Despite bringing with him a wealth of experience, Ranieri failed to lift a major trophy in his four-year stint at Chelsea from 2000-04, or in two years in charge at Juventus from 2007.

Monaco reached the Champions League final in 2004 and will be hoping the Italian can lead them back into the top flight.

How the fuck does he do it?

Managed these clubs:
1988–1991 Cagliari
1991–1993 Napoli

2000–2004 Chelsea
2004–2005 Valencia
2007 Parma
2007–2009 Juventus
2009–2011 Roma
2011–2012 Inter
2012– Monaco
And got ONE coppa del rey to show for it.

Bas Dost - Wolfsburg (€6.5m)

VfL Wolfsburg have further strengthened their squad ahead of the upcoming Bundesliga season with the signing of Bas Dost. The Dutch striker who turned 23 on 31st May makes the move from Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen having put pen to paper on a five-year contract lasting until 30th June 2017.

"Bas has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years," praised VfL managing director and head coach Felix Magath. "He is extremely dangerous in front of goal and a strong player inside the penalty area who always knows where the target is. I'm convinced that he can play an even more important a role at our club."

Dost took the Dutch top flight by storm last season as he netted 32 goals in 34 appearances to claim the Eredivisie Golden Boot award. Furthermore he achieved the feat of scoring every single goal in Heerenveen's 5-0 away win against SBV Excelsior en route to his side finishing the campaign in fifth.

Dost underwent a medical check in Wolfsburg on Friday to take care of the final formalities before completing his move and the striker is already looking forward to his German adventure. "It's a huge opportunity for me to prove myself in the Bundesliga with VfL Wolfsburg. Even as a youngster I took a great interest in the league," said the 23-year-old who admitted his new head coach had played a big part in convincing him to join VfL. "I had a really good feeling at the start of discussions with Felix Magath. The club first made contact with me during the winter break, but I wanted to finish the season with Heerenveen. Now though I'd prefer to start straight away."

Mitchell Weiser - Bayern Munich (€500k)

Bayern's squad for the 2012/13 campaign continued to take shape on Friday with the arrival of Germany youth starlet Mitchell Weiser from FC Köln. The 18-year-old has signed a professional contract binding him to FCB until 2015, and has been assigned the squad number 23.

“We're delighted that our first-team squad now includes two of the most talented junior players in Germany, Mitchell Weiser and Emre Can," commented director of sport Christian Nerlinger. Weiser said he was excited about the opportunity in Munich: “As a junior player, if you have the chance to become a pro with FC Bayern, you have to step up to the challenge. This is a huge chance for me."

Versatile midfielder Weiser joined the Köln youth section in 2005 and was a member of the German U–17 championship winning side in 2010/11. The son of former Bundesliga player Patrick Weiser made his Bundesliga debut in February 2012 as a 75th minute substitute for the men from Cologne in a 2–0 derby defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. Last year, Weiser junior was a member of the Germany team which finished third at the U–17 World Cup.

Paul Lambert - Aston Villa

The Board of Aston Villa are delighted to confirm that Paul Lambert has been appointed Villa manager.

Norwich City Football Club statement:
Following today's announcement by Aston Villa that they have appointed Paul Lambert as their new manager, we would once again like to place on record our sincere gratitude to Paul for everything he has done for the Club - everybody at Carrow Road wishes him all the best for the future.

Some media reports are suggesting we have agreed compensation for Paul's services with Aston Villa, however this is not the case. We will continue to discuss this matter privately with Aston Villa.

Meanwhile the search for the next Norwich City manager is already actively underway and the Club has been inundated with applications for and interest in the job of leading this great Club forward in the Barclays Premier League.

The next Norwich City manager will have a great squad of players, a robust and competitive budget and excellent facilities to work with - as well as the superb backing home and away of our fantastic supporters.

The Club will update our fans on this process in the days ahead as soon as we have more news.

Legendary boss Ottmar Hitzfeld reckons Paul Lambert was always destined to be a big hit in management because of his exceptional leadership qualities.

Lambert's studious and level-headed approach to the game impressed Hitzfeld during Borussia Dortmund's UEFA Champions League-winning campaign in 1996-97.

And it came as no surprise to Hitzfeld that his former midfield general used those attributes to forge a successful management career.

The German manager pinpointed Lambert as an integral part of his triumphant Dortmund side which featured the likes of Matthias Sammer, Andreas Moller and Karl-Heize Riedle.

"I have always followed Paul since he left Dortmund, and I congratulated him on his promotion to the Premier League with Norwich City," said Hitzfeld, who led Dortmund and Bayern Munich to European Cup successes.

"As a player, he always thought like a coach. He was a leader.

"He didn't cost a fortune when I bought him, and no one expected him to become a key player - but he did.

"So it is no surprise that he has become a successful manager."

Hitzfeld, the current Switzerland national team boss, also hailed Lambert's ability to create a positive dressing room atmosphere.

"What was most critical is that Paul was a very good team player," added the 63-year-old.

"That is one of the most important qualities as a coach and manager of a team.

"Paul was one of the players responsible for keeping a good mood in the dressing room before a game.

"And after a defeat, he was one of those who knew how to address a situation or any problem."

Joel Ward - Crystal Palace (£400k)

Palace's assistant manager Lennie Lawrence was delighted to see the youngster name the Eagles as his preferred choice amongst a choice of other Championship clubs. "Joel has been a long term target for Dougie Freedman and this signing is a real coup for the football club. We have had severe competition for his signature from other Championship clubs and he has spoken to them as you would expect him to do.

"We are absolutely delighted he has chosen us and we firmly believe that he will be a Premier League player one day and he obviously sees us as his best way forward in terms of his career".

Joel said: "I'm delighted to finally have made up my mind and have settled on Crystal Palace and I'm looking forward to the future.

"I was blessed and lucky to have a number of clubs interested but I met Dougie Freedman and he's a very infectious person who knows what he wants. He knows the vision that he's trying to instill into the players and into the club and that's what I want to see in a manager."

PALACE co-chairman Steve Parish says Joel Ward was their number one target to replace outgoing right-back Nathaniel Clyne.

The Eagles splashed out £400,000 to land Ward from Portsmouth and he will replace Clyne, who will be heading out the exit door this summer.

Parish said: “Joel was in a relegation battle last season and wanted assurances about the rest of the squad and what we were trying to achieve - we gave him that.

“He is a really decent kid with a decent family. He’s got exactly the right attitude.

“We’ve been following him for a long time - he was our number one choice. We’ve watched him 23 times - we know what he has for breakfast.

“He can grow and get better with us and Dougie Freedman impressed him with his knowledge.

“Joel can play right-back and the right side of midfield but we see him as a right-back. It is a hugely positive signing.”

Dirk Kuyt - Fenerbahce

Kuyt: "I'm looking forward. Fenerbahçe is a wonderful club to continue my career." According to agent Rob Jansen 14 clubs were interested.

'It has nothing to do with the club or the supporters, or the new coach. Liverpool and their fans will forever be in my heart."

"I wish the best for Liverpool, they remain one of the biggest clubs in the world. But it was time for me to have a new challenge."

Eden Hazard - Chelsea (reportedly £32 million)

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce we have agreed terms with Lille for the transfer of Eden Hazard.

The 21-year-old Belgian international has agreed personal terms with the club and today passed a medical examination. He will join the club in July when the players return for pre-season training.

Hazard, who was pursued by a host of top European clubs, moves to Stamford Bridge from the French Ligue 1 team, who he joined back in 2005 from Belgian side Tubize.

He is a versatile attacker who can play out wide, behind the frontman or as an out-and-out striker.

Having been named the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year at the tender age of 17, the outstanding achievement from his five years in France was securing the league and cup double in 2010/11, his stock rising rapidly with a string of impressive displays.

During his final season at Lille, when he was a team-mate of Joe Cole, he scored 21 goals in 48 games and made 18 assists, playing an integral role as the club finished third behind Montpellier and Paris St-Germain, to make the Champions League qualifying rounds.

He signed off in style after being handed the captain's armband for his final game for Lille, scoring a memorable hat-trick against Nancy in a devastating first-half display.

Hazard made his Belgium international debut as a 17-year-old in a game against Luxembourg in November 2008, coming on as a late substitute. He has 28 caps to his name and played the full 90 minutes in the friendly defeat against England at Wembley on Saturday where he came up against three of his new Chelsea team-mates.

Following his medical today, he said: 'I'm delighted to finally arrive here, it's a wonderful club and I can't wait to get started.'

He becomes the fourth Belgian to join the club, following the arrivals of Thibaut Courtois, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne.

He joins German international Marko Marin as new additions to the Chelsea squad since the January transfer window.

Zdenek Zeman - AS Roma

Zdenek Zeman is officially the new Roma Coach, with confirmation now arrived that he has signed a two-year deal with the Giallorossi.

The capital outfit have been in talks with the Prague-born tactician for the past week and a half and have now confirmed his widely-expected appointment from newly-promoted Pescara.

“Roma announces that it has signed with Zdenek Zeman an economic contract to become Head Coach of the first team,” read a statement released on Monday afternoon through Roma’s official website.

The agreement, lasting two years, is effective from July 1, 2012 and expires on June 30, 2013, provides for the recognition of a wage in line with the benchmarks in the market.

“Mister Zeman will be supported for the duration of his office by assistant Coach Vincenzo Cangelosi, technical assistant Giacomo Modica and athletic trainer Roberto Ferola.”

It is a return to the club for Zeman, who previously coached the Lupi in the late 1990s. Zeman coached Pescara to the Serie B title last season.

Andrea Stramaccioni - Inter Milan

Following the announcement made by FIGC's Technical Sector confirming Andrea Stramaccioni's place on the "Allenatori Professionisti di Prima categoria - UEFA PRO" course to be held in Coverciano between October 2012 and May 2013, F.C. Internazionale has now finalised the paperwork relating to the coach's three-year deal with the club. Stramaccioni's contract, which runs until 30 June 2015, was taken to the Lega Serie A offices today.

Inter have finally made official the appointment of Andrea Stramaccioni as Coach after finalising details on his three-year contract.

The 36-year-old tactician was thrown in at the deep end towards the end of last season, having been handed the post by President Massimo Moratti after guiding the club’s youth team to success in the inaugural NextGen Series.

Taking the club to the verge of Champions League qualification, though, he then agreed to a three-year contract last week to lead the team forward.

However, that written agreement has only just been handed to the Lega Calco, making official his appointment, after confirmation this week from the Italian Football Federation that the young tactician would be included on the next UEFA Pro Licence course.

All Serie A Coaches are required to have this qualification or be studying towards it, so Inter could only file his contract, signed until July 2015, once they knew he would be guaranteed a place on the next course.

Hedwiges Maduro - Sevilla

Sevilla have announced that Hedwiges Maduro will complete a transfer from Valencia on Tuesday, subject to a medical.

The Netherlands international has agreed to ply his trade at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan until 2015 after agreeing terms with the Nervionenses.

Maduro explained that he had been offered the opportunity to extend his stay at Mestalla but was ultimately persuaded to move to Sevilla by coach Michel.

"I am, of course, very happy with my new club," the 27-year-old Dutchman told Voetbal International.

"I could have signed for another two years at Valencia, but my feelings told me that I should not do so. And [Michel] even came to Amsterdam especially for me. That says a lot."
