Lucas Barrios - Guangzhou Evergrande (undisclosed fee, reportedly between €8.5 million to €12 million )

Lucas Barrios will leave German champions Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season to join Guangzhou Evergrande. The BVB striker has agreed to sign a four-year-contract with the Chinese club.

"Lucas Barrios has won two league titles with us and scored 39 goals in 82 Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund. In recognition of his accomplishments we will grant him his wish to leave the club to play somewhere else on a permanent basis again," said BVB´s sporting director Michael Zorc. The Paraguay international will join Guangzhou for an undisclosed fee.

Chief executive officer Hans-Joachim Watzke told Bild.de: "This is Lucas' decision. He wanted to begin a new adventure and we must allow him that.

"We have always dealt fairly with each other. It is clear that he wants to play regularly. He had great years here and we are indebted to him."

Lucas Barrios said that it´s very important for him to thank the many fans of Borussia Dortmund "for their great support in the last three years. I will never forget my time at BVB and will always cherish it."

Jason Pearce - Leeds United (undisclosed fee)

"I'm delighted," said the United manager. "He is a lad I've been looking at a lot and for a long while now. I saw him when he was at Bournemouth and almost took him to QPR last summer.

"I tried to get him in March when I first came here, but couldn't quite do it.

"I think he epitomises what I'm looking for in a player. He's got hunger and enthusiasm, and he won all the player of the year awards down at Portsmouth. He's just the type of player we need.

"I feel disappointed for the situation Portsmouth are in at the moment, but they'll come through it. We've all been through it, and there's no sentiment in football.

"Here we want to build a side and as soon as you get your number one signing in you can really start. I couldn't have got a better one that Jason. He's a lovely lad, fits in well, he has a good family, and everything's good around him.

"He'll love it here and I'm sure he'll be a fans favourite. He's not old, he's only 24, he's not a 34-year-old. He's got so much to prove, and I think we can make him a better player here."

"Leeds showed an interest a few weeks ago and as soon as I knew of that I wanted to get it done," said the former Portsmouth captain. "I'm glad it's done now. The gaffer showed me around, and you can see what a massive club this is with great facilities, and you can't turn it down.

"I'm delighted to be here and can't wait to move forward now. When you look at the fans here…they want to be back where they belong, and I hope I can help.

"I've got drive and will give 100 per cent. The gaffer wants to bring in some good players and I want to be a part of that. Everyone will be in the same position when we start again with a lot of new faces, but hopefully we can all bond quickly in pre-season, have a good one, and start the season well."

"For me now, personally, I've got the opportunity at a massive club with a great gaffer who wants to bring in a lot of new players. I'm really looking forward to it."

Blues boss Michael Appleton said: “Jason did ever so well for us in what was a very difficult season.

“Going off to play for Bournemouth in the lower leagues before coming back here did him the world of good – and he took his opportunity in the Championship.

“There was interest in him from other clubs all season, which shows the kind of campaign he had for us.

“The financial situation here made it inevitable that he would be going, but we wish him all the best for the future at Leeds.”

Mario Fernandez - CSKA Moscow (Reportedly €15 million)

FC Grêmio defender Mario Fernandes signed a five year contract with PFC CSKA.

Mário Figueira Fernandes

Nationality: Brazil
Position: defender
Date of birth: 19 September 1990
Height: 189
Weight: 77
54 games, 1 goal for FC Grêmio

''I'm happy with this new challenge in my career and I hope I win a lot of things here,’’ Fernandes told reporters. ''I know it's a big club with excellent facilities and one that is always fighting for titles.

''I am very grateful to Grêmio, for everything they have done for me. The club will be in my heart for the rest of my life.''

CSKA Moscow on Saturday announced the signing of 21-year-old Brazilian defender Mario Fernandes from Gremio on a five-year deal.

Neither club disclosed the transfer fee, which has put at between 12 million and 15 million euros in the Brazilian media.

Gremio will reportedly see only half of the fee because 50 percent of the rights to Fernandes were held by a third-party investor, a common practice in South American football.

Fernandes had been linked to several leading European clubs, and in December Gremio president Paulo Odone said that the club had held talks with Real Madrid.

The attacking right-back started his professional career at Gremio and played 54 games for the club.

Fernandes has suffered from personal problems in the past, and went missing for ten days after signing for Gremio in 2009.

He turned down a call-up to the Brazil squad for a friendly against Argentina in September, citing personal reasons for his decision.

Mario Fernandes restores the Brazilian connection for CSKA, who have been without a representative from the country since the Rusisan Premier League's all-time leading foreign goalscorer Vagner Love joined Flamengo in the winter break.

Rene Adler - Hamburger SV (free transfer)

HSV sporting director Frank Arnesen was delighted to tie up a deal for Alder, saying: "If you have the chance to sign a German international goalkeeper at the age of 27 on a free transfer, that s an opportunity you can t afford to miss. You have to pounce."

"He is determined. During his time out he went through eight months of physio to get back to shape."

Artjoms Rudnevs - Hamburger SV (£2.8m)

Arnesen described Rudnevs as "a real poacher. He scored 22 goals in 29 league games. If a striker scores a lot of goals in one year, that s good. If he s been the top scorer at each of his last three clubs, that s very good. He likes to get in behind and plays on the cusp of the offside trap. He s right footed, but he can shoot with his left and always looks to get into the box. He s also good in the air despite his size”.

Max Kruse - SC Freiburg (undisclosed fee)

The 24-year-old midfielder will make the move from Bundesliga 2 outfit FC St. Pauli for whom he finished as top goalscorer this season after netting 13 goals in 34 outings and contributing a further six assists.

Freiburg's sporting director Dirk Dufner believes his side have secured a real talent with the summer signing. "In Max Kruse we've signed a midfielder capable of posing a real threat in front of goal, who also brings Bundesliga experience with him. That we've succeeded in bringing such a sought-after young professional to Freiburg demonstrates that SC Freiburg's philosophy is an incredible attraction for talented players."

That Artjoms Rudnevs could be a very good player. I know scoring in the Polish league mightn't be all that impressive, but he's also banged a hat-trick in against Juve so he's done it in Europe too.

To think we could have signed Marin and Shaqiri for a combined fee for around what Stewart Downing cost is nothing short of Soul Destroying.

I love when people speculate like this as if we know for sure Marin and Shaqiri would want to come and play for 'Pool.

True, but if ye don't ask ye don't get and I bet we didn't ask. It reminds me of when we sold Alonso to Madrid, 2 weeks later they sold Robben & Sneijder and their fees came to about the same price we got for Alonso. It was widely known that Sneijder and Robben were surplus to Madrid's requirements and it was completely plausible that we could have organised a swap deal if we had had our wits about us.

Wasn't it also widely reported that we were offered Higuain, as part of the deal, which Rafa was happy with, but Hicks and Gilett insisted on a cash only deal.

Why do you love it? Does it give you a hard on or something? Who the were these two cunts a year ago anyway. It's not like they're huge superstars. They're up and comers that obviously Chelsea and bayern have taken an interest in. If we had done they same, like Pesam said, how can you be so sure they wouldn't have come?

Max kruse is such an awesome name
Tranmere have a kid, who is just breaking into the first team, by the name of..................Max Power. His parents must be fans of The Simpsons as Homer changed his name to Max Power in one episode.

Someone congratulated Homer on his impressive new name and Homer replied "Thank you, I got it from my iron".

Bart: Isn't that the wrong way?
Homer Simpson: Yeah, but faster!
