Confirmed transfers 2012/13

Shinji+Kagawa+

Shinji Kagawa - Manchester United (reportedly £16 million)

Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed terms with both Borussia Dortmund and Shinji Kagawa for his transfer to the Club.

The deal is subject only to the player medical and obtaining a UK work permit. These conditions are anticipated to be completed by the end of June.

Further details will be announced in due course.

That 16m will be paid back in a week in merchandise in Japan.
And thats regardless of wether he is a good player.
Fucking United are so much better than us at everyfuckingthing it makes me wanna puke.

Hazard to Chelsea, Kaga to United.
Wonder if we will get Gylfi fucking sigurdson.

I honestly don't think there's much between the two in terms of class.

About same age, both got a very decent scoring record and both got some key skills.

Kagawa is fast, good on the ball and can play most attacking-minded positions off the striker.

Gylfi is the more clever footballer, with an amazing set-piece and good vision. More physical adjust to the Prem whereas Kaga's build more like a Silva-type. And he'll need to settle whereas you could argue Gylfi has proved on several occasions that he fits right in.

We need both types of players in our team obviously and Kagawa would have been a good addition but not any more so that Gylfi imo.

*Can't help to think that Kagawas prize is slightly inflated due to the pending increased revenue from shirts sales in Asia. The estimated shirt-sales in Iceland probably won't hit the same numbers. Probably.

You can't say he's more clever than Kagawa then compare Kagawa to Silva, one of the most intelligent footballers around. Kagawa is absolutely brilliant and much better than Sig, not that Sig isn't good too. Kagawa will be absolutely brilliant for United, if used correctly of course.

I compared his stature to Silva mate.

I don't think Kagawa is as clever a footballer as Silva. Gylfi is mind.

Did you try to convince yourself of the same thing last season when we signed downing instead of mata!?!

Probably.

Still Downing wasn't a favourite signing for me at all. A decent squad player that was overly expensive - mainly because he's English.

Gylfi is one of the upcoming stars in his position and amongst other features he scores goals from midfield unlike almost any other player in our team now that Gerrard's been less involved.

7 goals in 18 games for Swansea is quite some feat for a midfielder and with 9 in 36 for Hoffenheim and 18 in 46 for Reading as an 18 to 20-year-old you'd be rather daft to question his ability.

Maybe you've seen Kagawa more than me and knows he's going to be world class and that £16M is a steal. All I'm saying is from what I know Gylfi at £8M would be the better deal in comparison as they are much alike talent-wise from my point of view.

Kagawa plays the same role as Rooney, and he's wasted out wide. I wonder how Utd will use him without changing around to much.

Anyhoo, fuck cares who the other teams are signing.

And dont underestimate Gylfi.

This is from the 09/10 Season when Gylfi was 19 playing for Reading.

38 matches played
17 goals scored
9 assists created

For a midfielder that's not too shabby. Had he been English he'd make Kagawas prize-tag seem like peanuts at this point in time.

He certainly looks more industrious in the middle of the park. If you look at his goals scored 9 out of 10 comes from in central. I wouldn't describe him as a winger.

Hang on a minute here. Gylfi may be a good player but while he was being fucked off out of mid-table Hoffenheim to a newly promoted side in another league, Kagawa was a central figure in Dortmund's title winning side.

Now of course I can't be sure, but that may have contributed to one costing 7M and the other 16M.

That's probably got something to do with it as well, yes.

It's only my opinion and it may be flawed good, I just don't think there's much between them in terms of talent and promise. I would actually argue we needed the playmaker more out of the two types of players as Kagawa would somehow fit Suarez position better than say Downings.

No one is comparing them or what they've done.

Firstly, Gylfi was Hoffenheims player of the season. Secondly, while Utd and Chelsea spend loads of money dont underestimate a player who cost less but looks to have great potential.

That was my point.

Kagawa is incredibly similiar to Silva as a footballer, in fact that's the best comparison you could make.

Here we are justifying signing the third best player from the 10th best team in England last year while United sign the 2nd best player in the best team in Germany.

It's what being a Liverpool supporter is all about

It's what we did last year with Sunderland. 😳

Binny's gonna give us a hidin' for ruining his thread!

Cheer up mate, according to Kicker he was only their fifth best player if I'm not mistaken.

I dont mind us signing him at all buddy, but to justify United signing Kagawa and Chelsea getting Hazard vs us getting MAYBE Sigurdsson is mental.
Hazard and Kagawa have been instrumental in their teams winning titles.
Sigurdsson was good at Reading.....

Personally I rate Hazard far more than Kagawa. Having said that I've not seen enough of Kagawa to know exactly how good he can be.

I personally thought he wasn't Silva's class at least.

Maybe he'll be a major player for United but unless they get their stuff sorted in central they'll struggle these coming years. Kagawa or no Kagawa.

Oh and another very important thing.

Dortmund wins the title again very much down to their incredible team-spirit much more so than down to individuals. Whereas Hazard has been instrumental, a starman, for Lille I'd say Kagawa has been important but more as a team-player than anything else.

Grêmio may announce the signing of Liverpool full-back Fábio Aurélio to fans after tonight's Copa do Brasil quarter-final clash.
Fábio Aurélio, 32, was a key player for both Valencia and Liverpool under manager Rafa Benitez, winning two La Liga titles and a UEFA Cup.
The former-São Paulo man is out of contract and set to return to Brazil, with Grêmio believed to have struck an agreement.
"We have already signed with one player, who we will announce to fans maybe on Friday, or maybe tomorrow after the game," said Grêmio director Paulo Pelaipe.
"It is all agreed and we are sorting the paperwork, then we will make an announcement."
Fábio Aurélio, a member of the 2000 Olympic Games squad, will join fellow veterans Zé Roberto and Gilberto Silva at the club for the coming season.
